Mrs. Halvor Hansen died suddenly Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oscar Thompson near Lyle. Funeral services were Wednesday from the home near Lyle and interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Hansen was 77 years old. She is survived by her husband and 4 daughters and 2 sons, Henry Hansen, St. Ansgar; George Hansen, Mrs. Ed Sherman, Wilbaux, Mont.; Mrs. Robert Richards and Mrs. Oscar Thompson, Lyle; and Ella Hansen of Austin. She was a member of the Lutheran church.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 31, at Mona Lutheran church for Mrs. William Garner, 67, who died at Mitchell County Memorial hospital Osage July 29 with the Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

Helen Augusta Moe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Moe, was born October 2, 1896 in Trempealeau County, Wis. Her childhood was spent in Wis. and she was confirmed April 21, 1912.

Kenneth Fossey obituary

Kenneth, the four year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Fossey, died at their home in Union township on Tuesday morning after a short illness, the immediate cause of his death being scarlet fever. Two other children of the family are also ill. The family has the sympathy of the community in their hour of sorrow.

Olive Marie, the three months old baby girl of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Fossey of Rhame, N.D., was brought here for burial Saturday. The little one died from injuries sustained in an accident on the 20th when Mr. and Mrs. Fossey and the little one, accompanied by Mrs. Fossey's sister Miss Corde Hanson of Osage were returning from Rhame and the buggy upset and the occupants were thrown out. Miss Hanson had both arms broken. The little child only lived a couple of hours after the accident.

DEATH CLAIMS JOHN GOULD.

Our readers, if they have not already heard, will be both pained and surprised to know that John Gould was called from this world of sickness and trouble, to that bourn, from which no trave'er e'er returns. It was severe shock to his immediate relatives as well as his friends, for it seems that when he failed to get up in the morning as usual, his mother went to call him and found he had died sometime between night and morning. Imagine the shock to those left behind, as they entered his room to find that he was no more.

Funeral services for Edward Gould, 74, who died in an auto accident here December 31, were held at the Mona Lutheran church on Saturday afternoon, January 5 with the Rev. Stanley V. Gjervik officiating.

Mr. Gould, an electrician, was a lifelong resident of Mitchell county. He is survived by his wife of St. Ansgar and a son, Kermit Gould of Hermosa Beach, California; also five brothers and one sister.

The late Mr. Gould was born March 30, 1877 in Mona.

The funeral services for the late Roy Gleason, who passed away at the hospital at Austin early Monday morning, Sept. 16, were held Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 18, at the Mona Lutheran church of which he was a member. The pastor, Rev. Langehough, had charge of the service, which was largely attended by friends, relatives and neighbors.

Mrs. Julia Gunderson died at 4:55 Sunday morning at the home of her niece, Mrs. Chris Olson in Nevada township. Mrs. Gunderson had been in poor health for some time, but it was only a few weeks ago that she had strong hope of returning to her home in Mona. The funeral services were held in Mona Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. O. M. Langehough having charge. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

The entire community was saddened last Thursday, March 9 of the tragic death of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fossey, prominent Mower county farm couple who lost their lives by smoke inhalation in a fire in their farm home northeast of Lyle.

Double funeral services were held Sunday, March 12 at Our Savior's Lutheran church, Lyle, with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery, Mona.

Martha Anderson Gould, daughter of John and Maggie Anderson, born in Norway on November 5th, 1842, and died on February 6th, 1928; aged 85 years 3 months and one day; at the home of her daughter Mrs. W. C. Frank, at Rudd, Iowa.

The funeral was conducted at the home and at the First Lutheran Church of St. Ansgar by his pastor, Rev. M. E. Waldeland, on Wednesday, the 2nd of July, and was very largely attended being one of the largest funerals ever held in St. Ansgar, not half the people being able to get into the church Rev. Waldeland preached a very impressive sermon from Romans 1.16 "For I Am Not Ashamed of The Gospel of Christ, for It Is the Power of God unto Salvation to Everyone That Believeth."

Miss Cordelia Hansen lies in a hospital at Rhame, N.D., with with both arms broken, and otherwise injured, as a result of an accident which occurred on Wednesday night last week. In the same accident the little 4 months-old baby of Mrs. Otto Fossey(nee Anna Hansen) was killed.
