FRIDAY

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the family home and at the Lyle Lutheran church for Hans Helgeson, who died suddenly Friday at the home eight miles south of the city. Rev. O. M. Langehough conducted the services and burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona, Iowa, just south of the Mower County border line.

OBITUARY.
Miss Lena Hedemark was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.D. Hedemark and was born December 23,1878, and died of typhoid fever August 1st, 1901.

Miss Hedemark was a lovable young lady of sweet and gracious manners, a favorite in the family and beloved by all who knew her.

Her untimely death is another verification of the old adage that death loves a shining mark.

Funeral services for Leland Chester Haugen, 77, of St. Ansgar, Mitchell county, Iowa, who died on Saturday, January 31, 1987, at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar were held on Wednesday, February 4, 1987 at Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Gaylord Grant officiating.

Mr. Haugen was born on October 24, 1909 in Meroa, Mitchell county, Iowa, to Carl K. and Mena Caroline (nee Ask) Haugen.

Funeral services for John Haugen, 38, rural Lyle, who died December 21 at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital, were held December 24 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Gaylord Grant officiating.

John Alfred Haugen was born June 19, 1941 in Osage, the son of Alfred and Clara (Sandvig) Haugen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a lifelong member of the Mona Lutheran Church.

Gerd Marthe Haugen, 93, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society, St. Ansgar. Funeral services were held Saturday May 31, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mona Lutheran Church, Mona with Rev. Lydia Mittag officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona. Visitation was Friday from 5 - 7 at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

Gerd Marthe (Westend) Haugen was born January 5, 1921 in Jevnaker, Norway. She was born to Ivar Westend Hognes and Karen Olimb Westend Hognes.

OBITUARY

Henry K. Helgeson was born Sept. 19, 1898 at Lyle, the son of Knut and Anne Helgeson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and spent his entire life farming in Nevada Twp. He passed away Sept. 5th at the age of 51 yrs. 11 mo. and 25 days.

He is survived by two brothers: Alfred and Ole K. Helgeson of Lyle and three sisters: Mrs. Fred Klowitter of Los Angeles, Calif; Mrs. Carl Haas of Lyle and Mrs. Conrad Halverson of Adams; and 14 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, three sisters and one brother.

--Helga, the eight year old daughter of K. O. Haugen, passed away Sunday after a severe illness, since the 22nd of February. The other members of the family who have been ill are reported to be improving nicely. The family has the heartfelt sympathy of the community in their sore afflictions. --Lyle Tribune
