RESTON -- Grace M. Prouty, 95, a former area farm homemaker, died Wednesday (Feb, 2, 1994) at Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel.

Grace M. Williams was born Nov. 28, 1898, in Lyle, attended Lyle schools and graduated from Lyle High School. On April 8, 1923, she married Charles H. Prouty in Lyle. They lived in Austin and farmed in the Pine Island area before moving to Preston in 1945. Her husband died Dec. 4, 1979. Mrs. Prouty lived in Canton from 1983 until entering the nursing home Apri1 18, 1986. She was a member of the Lyle Willing Workers and Henrytown Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, Harold ``Buzz'' of Rochester; three daughters, Maxine (Mrs. Richard) Schultz of Harmony, Shirley (Mrs. Edward) Hanson of West Alice, Wis., and Idell (Mrs. Herbert) Parker of Hopkins, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A brother and a sister preceded her in death.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Henrytown Lutheran Church in rural Canton with the Rev. Arndt Bratten officiating. Spring burial will be in Woodbury Cemetery in Lyle.

Friends may call an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
