Funeral services were held on Friday, August 15 at Schroeder & Houg Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, for Mrs. Annie Hanson, 85, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center Tuesday, August 12. Services were in charge of the Rev. Don Comnick.

Annie E. Navesett was born December 4, 1883 in Norway, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellend Navestt.

The people of Lyle and community were shocked Saturday afternoon when news reached here that Olans N. Hagna of Austin had been struck at the Mona crossing by the north bound I. C. passenger train and fatally injured.

Knute B. Gunderson died at his home on the corner of Second and Baldwin streets Monday about noon at the age of almost eighty years. His death followed a six-months illness of asthma and bronchitis.

Miss Bertha Hanson died at her home Friday the 9th of March, after an illness of many years. She has suffered much but she died in the belief of Him who can relieve all suffering. She was held in high esteem among her many friends. The family have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.

Funeral services for Larden Halverson, 73, who died January 13 at his home in Mona, were held January 17 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating.

Lardan M. Halverson was born on a farm in Six Mile Grove, Mower county, February 22, 1887, the son of Ole and Laura Halverson. He was baptized in Six Mile Grove by the Rev. Mr. Eggen and confirmed at Meridean, Wisconsin. He was an active member of the Lutheran church all his life.

Funeral services for Carl K. Haugen, age 82 held last Thursday, May 7 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Wm. Kamke of St. Peter Lutheran church, Toeterville officiating, with interment at Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

Carl K. Haugen was born June 13, 1876 in Cedar Township, the son of Knut and Gertrude Haugen. He was baptized and confirmed at the Meroa Lutheran church and received his education in the Meroa school and also attended the Seminary in Osage.

Mrs. Clara Hanson, 73, died Monday afternoon at the Halvorson Rest Home. She resided at 101 Elm Tree Road, and had been in failing health the past several years.

A former resident of Lyle, she is survived by a daughter; Mrs. Frank Schleich (Hazel), Austin; grandson, John Schleich, Wayzata; a sister, Mrs. Hans Richard son, Lyle; a brother, Christen Olswold, Austin.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon.

Funeral services for Carl M. Hanson, 79, who died Thursday, July 12 after a lingering illness, were held Sunday, July 15 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Stanford Stenson officiating.

Carl Marius Hanson was born in Mitchell county March 1, 1877, the son of Martin and Karen Hanson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Mona church during his entire life.

Funeral rites were conducted Friday, July 31, by Reverend S. V. Gjervik for Eddie Hanson, who died July 27 at Mercy hospital, Mason City.

Eddie Hanson was born May 2, 1882 to Martin and Bertha Hanson. He grew up near Otranto and married Anna Nessett there Sept. 17, 1903. They farmed north of St. Ansgar, at Mona and at Murdock and Rose Creek, Minn., retiring to Adams, Minn.

The funeral services were conducted for Mrs Eddie Hanson last Saturday afternoon at Six Mile Grove church by Rev Stanley V Gjervik.

Anna Nesseth Hanson was born February 14, 1882, a daughter of Martin and Bertha Nesseth of St. Ansgar. In 1903 she was united in marriage to Eddie Hanson and they moved to a farm. Later they moved to Murdock, and in the fall of 1918 they returned to the Lyle vicinity where they lived for thirty years.

ALBERT H. HANSON

There were sobering moments for the friends of A H Hanson, Saturday morning when it became known that, his spirit had taken its flight during the early hours of the morning, at the hospital at Austin where he had been, about two weeks. For some time he had not been well, but his condition was not considered past recovery until a few days before his passing.

For some time, Mr. Hanson, had not been at his best but he pegged away faithfully until he was forced to lay his tools aside, and rest.

John J. Hanson was born Aug. 28th, 1860 at Grue Solor, Norway; and emigrated to this country at the age 13 years. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. John Olson at St. Ansgar, Iowa. On Dec. 28, 1887 he was united in marriage to Olivia Larson.

Obituary

Jennie Pierson, daughter of Thurston and Gunild Reierson, was born August 4th 1876 in Mitchell County, Iowa, where she attended the rural schools and grew to womanhood. She attended the Osage Seminary and the Cedar Falls Normal College and then taught school in her home community for many years.

She became associated with the First National Bank of Lyle, and with her mother moved to Lyle to reside.

She was married to Olaus Hagna Nov. 27, 1919. Mr. Hagna passed away Dec. 2, 1922. Mrs. Hagna continued to reside in Austin until her death.

DIED AT ST. OLAF HOSPITAL

Mrs. Jennie Reierson Hagna passed away at 5 o'clock Monday morning. She suffered a stroke about a week previous and remained unconscious to the end. The funeral service was held at 2 o'clock, Thursday afternoon, at the Jordan Mortuary, Rev. Loss of the Lutheran church at Austin officiating.

Mrs. Hagna was born and reared in this vicinity, where she had many friends. She was a woman of high principle, and was a gentlewoman in every respect.

Ole Haas was born in Trondhiem, Norway on February 28, 1861, and passed away March 9, 1937 at the home of his son, Carl at the age of 76 years and nine days. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. He came to America at the age of 22 years.

Ove Peter Hanson was born November 24th, 1855 at Shelland, Denmark, and died at his farm home at Mona, Iowa, January 16 1937 at the age of 81 years one month and 23 days. He was baptized and confirmed in Denmark, and there was married on July 1st, 1876 to Christine Rasmussen to which union seven children were born. Of these five died during their early childhood years. The family immigrated to America in May 1880, going first to Medford, Minnesota, and later coming to Lyle, where Mr. Hanson worked for a number of years in the Lyle lumber yard.
