OBITUARY- OLE HAAS

Ole Haas was born in Trondhiem, Norway on February 28, 1861, and passed away March 9, 1937 at the home of his son, Carl at the age of 76 years and nine days. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. He came to America at the age of 22 years.

In 1890 Mr. Haas was married to Bertha Nelson of Waukon, Iowa, who preceded him in death on July 21, 1936. They made their home in Ahamakee County until 1912, when they moved to a farm near Lyle. There they lived until 1924 when they moved to Lyle, which continued to be their home until the death of Mrs. Haas, after which he moved back to the farm with his son, Carl.

He leaves to mourn his loss four children; Olger of Church, Iowa; Emma(Mrs. Louis Gjifle) of Waukon, Iowa; Carl of Lyle and Clara(Mrs. Don Henley) of Sterling, Ill. A son, Theodore, preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 1920, at the age of 17 years. He leaves eight grandchildren, also two sisters in Norway. Funeral services were held at the home Friday March 12 at 1:30 P. M. and at the Lutheran church at 2 P. M. Rev. Lange hough officiated.

The sum of $5.75 was given as a memorial wreath.
