MRS. ROY HOBKIRK
Mrs. Roy Hobkirk, 75, Lyle, died Friday afternoon at the Barnett Rest Home following failing health.
Survivors include her husband, a son Robert, Dallas, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Theodore Bolinder, Englewood, Calif.; Mrs. Olga Sundt, St. James; Mrs. Lardan Halverson, Mona, Iowa; Mrs. Ellen Cordes, Osage, Iowa; three brothers, Oscar Thompson, Velva, N. D.; Thomas, Voltaire, N. D., and Louis of Austin.
Funeral services will be announced later by the Worlein Funeral Home.
Funerals
Funeral services for Arthur Hofland, Austin Rt. 3, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, the Rev. Arthur L. Swenson officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, Iowa. Friends may call at the Worlein Funeral Home until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
Mrs. Hans Helgeson, Sr., 76, of Lyle, died at 1:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at St. Olaf hospital. She was ill with pneumonia and was taken to the hospital Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the Lyle Lutheran church Friday at 2:00pm. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
--On Friday Sept. 12th the remains of Mrs. Martha Hofland were laid to rest in Pleasant Hill cemetery. The deceased was one of the old settlers of the community, having settled in Mitchell County, Ia., in April 1874.

Hans Helgeson
Funeral Held
Our Savior's
Funeral services for Hans Helgeson, 75, who died Wednesday, May 20 at St. Olaf hospital, May 23 at Our Savior's Lutheran church with the Rev. M. Johnson officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Mona.
Hans Helgeson, son of Hans and Bertha (Olson) Helgeson, was born December 6, 1894 in Lyle township, one of 10 children in the family.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Mona Lutheran church and attended the rural Red Star school near Lyle.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hans Helgeson, 77, were held Tuesday, October 22 at Our Savior's Lutheran church, Lyle with the Rev. M. Johnson officiating.
Mrs. Helgeson died October 19 at St. Olaf hospital, Austin, following a three months illness.
Isabelle Olena Helgeson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. K. Snorthum, was born March 25, 1891 at Adams, Minn. After her marriage to Hans Helgeson on March 23, 1921 she lived in Nevada township until her death.
Ben Helfritz
Funeral Held

Willie Ben Helfritz, better known as Ben Helfritz, son of Otto and Sigurid Helfritz, was born March 28, 1885 in St. Ansgar. His mother died when he was three years of age and he was raised by his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Thorson at St. Ansgar.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith there and also attended the grade school and Seminary in St. Ansgar.
He came to Lyle in 1907 where he bought a dragline business which he operated for fifty years and retired in 1960 due to failing health.
OSCAR HEDEMARK
The death of Oscar Hedemark, which was mentioned in last weeks Tribune occurred at Springfield, Mo., Monday evening Oct. 28th at 6:30 p.m. He had been there several weeks in the employ of the Frisco R. R., which is owned by the Rock Island.
The eldest son of Hans Helgerson of Nevada, aged eleven years, died last Saturday after an illness of a few days with brain fever. The funeral was held at Mona Tuesday afternoon.
Helga, the 8 year old daughter of K. O. Haugen, passed away Sunday after a severe illness since the 22nd of Feb. The other members of the family who have been ill are reported to be improving nicely. THe family has the heartfelt sympathy of the community in their sore afflictions.
Olivia Larson Hedemark
The people of Lyle and community were shocked Monday, by the sudden death of Mrs. Olivia Hedemark who passed away about noon. She had been in her usual health and spirits until a few minutes previous, when she complained of feeling chilly. Help was summoned and a doctor was called, but ere he arrived the spirit had taken its flight and the earthly pilgrimage was ended.
OBITUARY
The many friends of Miss Anna Helgeson were saddened last week when it was learned that she had passed away at 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon after a lingering illness of about ten months with consumption. Some time in July, last year, it was first discovered that she was suffering from the disease which eventually claimed her. Aside from a couple years spent in Minneapolis she lived in this community where she was born and raised to womanhood.

OBITUARY
Ole Knutson Haugen, who has been sick the past 16 years, passed away very quietly Saturday afternoon at the home of his son, R. O. Knutson, four miles northeast of Lyle. The deceased had attained more than the allotted span of years, having reached, not only his three score and ten years, but four score and eight, on the 20th of last March. Few have the privilege of living more than half a century in a community as he did, and see it develop from a wilderness to a highly-improved, well-settled community.
Last Friday shortly after one o'clock the Death of Angel made another visit to our community and beckoned to one of our citizens to fellow across the shining waters to the better land. The call came without warning while the called was in apparent good health.
DIED-- Saturday February 23, 1901, of hemorrhage of the spinal cord, Henry the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Helgerson (sic). Interment took place at the Mona cemetery February 27.
Alfred Helgeson
Rites Saturday
Alfred Helgeson, age 55, a bachelor, who resided between Lyle and Austin, was found dead in his car on the street in Lyle Wednesday, May 28 about 3:55 p.m.
The Mower county coroner and sheriff were called and death was determined due to a heart attack. Mr. Helgeson resided with his niece, Mrs. Wilfred Dennison.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 31, at St. Olaf Lutheran church in Austin with the Rev. A. Swenson officiating with interment at Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

MRS CARL HAUGEN
Mena Caroline Ask was born Sept 4 1878 at Rock Creek Cedar Twp., Mitchell Co., Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Rock Creek Lutheran church by Rev. John Olsen.
She was united in marriage to C. K. Haugen April 10, 1904 and they established a home in LacQui Parle Co., Minn. In 1908 they returned to Rock Creek community, and in 1912 they moved to Otranto Twp. where they continued to reside.
To them three sons were born: Odell Klifton, Gaylord who died in infancy, and Leland Chester of this community.
1858 KNUT HELGESON 1945
Knut Helgeson was born in Telemaren, Norway, Nov. 4, 1858 and passed away at his home, north of Lyle, June 13, 1945 at the age of 86. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in his native land. At the time of his passing he was a member of the Lutheran church in Lyle.
OBITUARY
Knut E. Haugen was born in Olmstead county, Minn., Nov. 19, 1864. In infancy he moved with his family to Dodge County, Minn., where he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
On June 21, 1892 he was married to Bertha Elsie Tram. To this union nine children were born. The family resided in Dodge county until Oct. 1907, when they moved to Mitchell county, east of Mona, where he lived until his death on Nov. 21, 1934.

OBITUARY
Lizzie Olson Helfritz, daughter of Amund and Helga Olson, was born February 25, 1884, on a farm in Lyle Township, and passed away January 28, 1933 at the age of 48 years, 11 months and 3 days.
On June 30, 1909 she was united in marriage to W. B. Helfritz of St. Ansgar, Iowa. This union was blessed with nine children, two having preceded her in death. She leaves besides her husband Hazel, Russel, O[illegible:?] Delmar, Gladys, Lois and Robert at home.

SATURDAY MORNING
Mrs. Ben Helfritz passed away at her home Saturday morning after a long illness. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Lutheran church, with burial at Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona. Besides her husband and seven children she leaves a large number of relatives and friends to mourn.
