Knut Helgeson was born in Telemaren, Norway, Nov. 4, 1858 and passed away at his home, north of Lyle, June 13, 1945 at the age of 86. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in his native land. At the time of his passing he was a member of the Lutheran church in Lyle.

In 1884 the deceased came to America. On Sept. 13, 1886, he was united in marriage with Anna Olson who passed away nine years ago. Six of their 10 children survive. They are: Gertie (Mrs Fred Klawitter) of California, Ole of near Austin, Henry and Alfred at home, Clara (Mrs Carl Hass) of Lyle and Hazel (Mrs Conrad Halvorson) of Adams. Thirteen grandchildren also survive. The following children preceded him in death: Henry, Henrietta, Anna and Gena.

A granddaughter, Grace Hansen, made her home with Mr. Helgeson up to the time of her marriage.

Funeral services were held at the home Saturday, June 16 at 1:30 and at the Lutheran church at Lyle at 2 P M Burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
