Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the family home and at the Lyle Lutheran church for Hans Helgeson, who died suddenly Friday at the home eight miles south of the city. Rev. O. M. Langehough conducted the services and burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona, Iowa, just south of the Mower County border line.

Hans Helgeson was a native of Telmarken, Norway and when he was 22 years old he came to this country. He chose farming for his occupation. He married in 1886 Bertha Olson, a school day friend. His untimely passing is a sad blow to family and friends. (over)

Besides the wife there are a family of 6 daughters and 3 sons. Mrs. J. H. Malloy, Mrs. A. J. Larson, Mrs. A. Silbaugh, Mrs. Kelly Gorge, Mrs. Kenneth Nelson, and Miss Clara all of Austin. Ole and Hans J. of Lyle and Henry at home. One son died in 1901 at the age of 11 years.
