Funeral Services Held For Kermit Omer Gould At Deer Creek Lutheran Church

Funeral services for Kermit Omer Gould, 85, were held Friday, October 20 at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, with the Rev. E.C. Franke officiating.

Kermit Omer Gould was born June 27, 1904 to Edward and Ida (Williams) Gould in St. Ansgar. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at First Lutheran church, St. Ansgar. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School and attended the University of Iowa and the University of Minnesota. He moved to Los Angeles, Calif. and was employed by Rockwell International Aviation, working on the Apollo Space Program in later years.

He was married in 1933 to Hazel Harrington Wentworth until her death in 1972. In 1974 he moved to St. Ansgar. On July 20, 1974 he married Ina Anderson Nicholson and they made their home in Carpenter. They enjoyed wintering in Arizona and Texas, fishing and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Ina of Carpenter; seven step children, Hazel Stall of Los Angeles, Calif., Elizabeth LePore, El Cajon, Calif., Sharon Hintz of Dixon, Ill., Yvonne Albrecht of LeRoy, Minn., Nancy Harvey of Bowing Green, Ky., Phyllis Mashaney of Carpenter, and Harold Nicholson of Waterloo; 17 step grandchildren; 11 great step grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, an identical twin brother, Cromwell, and a one step grandson.

Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona. Schroeder & Sites were in charge of arrangements.
