Roy Gleason Passes
Away at Austin
Hospital Sept 16

The funeral services for the late Roy Gleason, who passed away at the hospital at Austin early Monday morning, Sept. 16, were held Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 18, at the Mona Lutheran church of which he was a member. The pastor, Rev. Langehough, had charge of the service, which was largely attended by friends, relatives and neighbors.

The deceased was 56 years of age, and had resided in this community the greater part of his life. Mr. Gleason was a good neighbor and citizen and contributed a good measure to the upbuilding of the community. For several years the family had resided on the Johnson farm two miles east of Lyle.

During the past weeks Mr. Gleason had not been feeling well having a siege of the flu, but kept on with his duties. On Saturday he became ill and sought medical advice, and was taken to the hospital at Austin. His condition remained unchanged Sunday, and he passed away early Monday morning before the family, who had been summoned, could reach his bedside.

Mr. Gleason was a prominent farmer of Union township and Mower county, Minnesota, well known in this and surrounding communities. His passing is deeply mourned by a wide circle of friends. He is survived by his wife and four children, three sons and a daughter, Roy Jr., Read, Robert and Harriet.
