Obituary
On Friday, Nov. 4, the remains of Mrs. Christopher Carson were laid to rest in the Mona cemetery. Since 1916 the deceased has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Reynolds of Buckeye, Ia., at whose home she passed away Nov. 4 at the age of 83 years 8 months and 21 days.
The principal facts concerning the life of Botolf B. Bothum, whose dath was referred to in the Tribune two weeks ago are as follows:
MRS. BETSY BOTHUM.
Those who have known Mrs. Bothum would scarcely believe that the neighbors, friends and relatives would so soon be gathered for the purpose of showing their last respects in a funeral service. For over two years she has constantly and tenderly cared for her husband who has been confined to his bed. And few indeed knew that the deceased had been in poor health until they learned that only a few days ago she had gone to Rochester to submit to an operation. This was soon followed by the report that she had passed to the great beyond Saturday evening.
Miss Sophia Blakestad, a daughter of G. Blakestad, who resides northeast of our town, died last Saturday at 11 o'clock a. m. The deceased had just passed her sixteenth birthday anniversary and from infancy till about six months before her sad death had been in apparently good health. After this time, however, her health begin to fail and as soon as the symptoms of dropsy became at all alarming the best medical aid was secured, but of no avail.
