He was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad for over thirty years, up until 1943, when he retired. Blessed be his memory. Peace be with his dust.
Dear Father Laid to Rest
He is gone, but not forgotten,
Father, dear, we loved so well,
To his friends and all relations,
He has said a fond farewell,
In his suffering he was patient,
Never murmured or complained,
Keen we feel this separation,
But our loss is now is gain.
He sought Christ for his salvation,
He became his dearest friend,
Now within the Heavenly Mansion,
He has joys that never shall end.
