Obituary

On Friday, Nov. 4, the remains of Mrs. Christopher Carson were laid to rest in the Mona cemetery. Since 1916 the deceased has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Reynolds of Buckeye, Ia., at whose home she passed away Nov. 4 at the age of 83 years 8 months and 21 days.

Theodora Christenson was born Feb 9th 1838 in Lysne Gaerden, Norway. At the age of 18 she immigrated to America and settled in New Lisbon, Wis., where she was united in marriage to Christopher Carson on the 24th of June 1862. She moved with her husband to St. Ansgar, Ia, the trip being made in a covered wagon. From there they moved to Otranto, where they continued to reside about 25 years, and in June 1912 celebrated their Golden Wedding, all of the children being present. In 1915, on account of old age, they left the old home and went to LeRoy and spent a year, and then went to Buckeye, Ia. Mrs. Carson was the mother of 10 children, seven of whom are living:
Christian Carson, Deronda Wis.,
John Carson, London, Minn,
Nute Carson, St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Mrs. Il O. Share, Longmont, Colo.
Mrs. H. F. Finton, Minneapolis, Minn.
Mrs. A. E. Reynolds, Buckeye, Ia.

Besides the husband she leaves 15 grand children and 7 great grand children.
