Funeral services for a former Mona resident, Gaylen B. Carlson, 64, were held Monday, May 18 at Hage Funeral Home in Charles City with the Rev. Stanley Carlsen officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery in Mona.

Carlson died at his home in Charles City, Friday, May 15.

Gaylen Carlson, son of Charles and Gunda (Johnson) Carlson, was born in Mona August 31, 1905. On July 3, 1926 he married Kathryn Torgeson at Lyle.

Mr. Carlson was operator of the Mason City Steel Products Co. for many years. At the time of his death he was employed by Muller Clothing Co., in Charles City.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; one son, G. Neil Carlson, Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. George Von Tersch, Colo. Springs, Colo. and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mrs. O. (Evelyn) Nelson of Mona.

Attending the funeral from Lyle were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jordan, Mrs. Mense Fossey, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Myhre, Eugene Myhre, David Farlinger, Melvin Elevrum and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Carlson.
