Russell Anderson

Russell O. Anderson, 90, died Wednesday at his home in Minneapolis.

A former resident of the Lyle and Mona, Iowa, area, he had been employed as a state bank examiner and also served as a state auditor for Minnesota counties.

Surviving are two brothers, Melvin of Washington and Andrew of California. His wife, Floy Dahl Anderson preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, Iowa.

OLE A. ANDERSON

Ole A. Anderson, 87, Lyle jeweler for 61 years, died at his home at 7 a. m. today. Anderson had been in business at Lyle since he leased the jewelry store from Andrew Johnson in June, 1891. He purchased the store in 1893 after operating for two years on a commission basis. For a time he and his uncle, Theodore A. Bagstad, operated a store at Adams. Mr. Anderson who never married emigrated to the United States when he was 11 years old. Nearest surviving relative is Mr. Bagstad who was 99 years old in December. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

It again becomes our painful duty to record the death of one of our esteemed friends of London in the person of Mrs. Calista Davidson (sic), who died June 13th at Austin, of consumption ; age 22. Her maiden name was Gibson, and she had been married to George Davidson (sic) about 6 months. They moved to Austin this spring, but was brought to London the scene of her youth for funeral services the 15th. Rev. Mr. Stanley of Austin delivered the sermon from Matt. 25 ch. 13 v. to an unusual large concourse of attentive and sympathetic hearers.

Peter H. Fahje Funeral Held At Our Savior's

Funeral services for Peter H. Fahje, 92, were held at Our Savior's Lutheran church March 7 with the Rev. M. Johnson officiating. Interment was at Woodbury Cemetery, Lyle.

Peter Henry Fahje was born March 9, 1875 in Hamburg, Germany. In 1893 he came to Dubuque with one brother and one sister. He then moved to Elkton, Minn, where he married Minnie Sievert in 1904. In 1916 they moved to Kenmore, N.D. where he farmed until retiring. In 1957 he moved to Lyle until going to Raymond's Nursing Home, Austin, a few years ago.

Funeral services for Morris S. Ellingson, 39, who died at his home in St. Ansgar Friday, September 13, were held Tuesday, September 17 at the First Lutheran church with Rev. Don Hamilton officiating.

Morris Stanley Ellingson was born near St. Ansgar August 29, 1918, the eldest son of Martin and Olivia (Evenson) Ellingson, both now deceased. He was baptized in infancy and his confirmation took place May 19, 1932 at the Osage Lutheran church by the Rev. T. P. Solem.

Mrs. Harry Dockstader Funeral Held At Otranto Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Dockstader, 83, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital September 17, were held September 20 at the Otranto Community church in Otranto with the Rev. Howard Grossoehme officiating.

Lucy Anne Dockum was born May 4, 1893 In Mansfield, Ill., the daughter of Harry and Rosie (Townsend) Dockum. When she was nine years old her family moved to Ames, later to Oklahoma, and in 1914 to a farm north of Meltonville.

RICHARD OLSON

Ricahard (sic) Olson, one of the oldest settlers of Nevada township died Thursday, Jan. 31, 1907, after a severe illness of two months, aged about 72 years. He has been in failing health for quite a while.

He was born in Norway and came to this country in 1851 on the same ship with J. Solner of Austin. he settled in Nevada about 1862. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Swenson, daughter of Hans Swenson. The family have since resided in Nevada.

ORIN H. BROWN

Orin H. Brown, whose death we noted last week, was born in St. Johnsville, N. Y., Aug. 19, 1841. He was reared there and when the war broke out he enlisted in Company B, 115th New York Vols., serving for over three years. He was at the front and was wounded at Chester Heights. He had an excellent record as a faithful and brave soldier.

Mrs. Ole Linde

The remains of Mrs. Ole Linde, whose death was announced last week were brought to Lyle from Grand Forks last Sunday afternoon and laid to rest in the family lot in the Six Mile Grove cemetery.

The deceased was born near Calmar, Iowa, January 22nd, 1861, where she grew to womanhood. Later the family moved to this vicinity, and about eighteen years ago she was united in marriage to Ole Linde. Until about three years ago the family made their residence, at Lyle and Adams. They then moved to Grand Forks, N. D., where Mr. Linde was engaged in carpenter work.

Mrs. Mate F. Sargent

Mrs. M. F. Sargent of Nevada township, passed away at 12:50, the noon hour on Decoration Day in a hospital in St. Paul. Mrs. Sargent was sick with gall stones and ten days previous to her demise she was taken to St. Paul for treatment and an operation. She was always rugged and hearty and her sudden passing away was a great shock to the many friends in this vicinity where she had always lived.

Dean Arthur, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Dock was born Jan. 18th (sic), 1931 and passed away Jan. 20 at the age of one week and six days. Altho little Dean spent a few short days in this world he had endeared himself to his parents and sisters. Death was caused by convulsions. Besides his parents he leaves two small sisters, June and Dorothy to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the home with Rev. O. M. Langehough officiating. Interment was made in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Joy I. Nelson Funeral Held At Mona Lutheran

Funeral services for Mrs. Joy I. Nelson, 69, of Mona, who died February 11, were held February 14 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Gaylord Grant officiating.

Joy I. Nelson was born October 18, 1914 in LuVerne, the only child of George and Minnie (Legler) Watkinson. She was graduated from Garner high school and received a teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She taught school for several years in rural schools in Hudson, Akron, Union township and Otranto.

Roy Severson Funeral Services Are Held At Manly On February 11

Funeral services for Roy Morris Severson, 85, of Manly, who died Sunday, February 8 at a Mason .City hospital, were held Wednesday, February 11 at Bethlehem Lutheran church in Manly with Dr. John Meyer officiating.

Mr. Severson was born September 23, 1901 in Carpenter to Sam and Sarah (Ellenboe) Severson. He attended Carpenter rural schools and completed high school in Hastings, Minn.
