Morris Ellingson Funeral Held September 17

Funeral services for Morris S. Ellingson, 39, who died at his home in St. Ansgar Friday, September 13, were held Tuesday, September 17 at the First Lutheran church with Rev. Don Hamilton officiating.

Morris Stanley Ellingson was born near St. Ansgar August 29, 1918, the eldest son of Martin and Olivia (Evenson) Ellingson, both now deceased. He was baptized in infancy and his confirmation took place May 19, 1932 at the Osage Lutheran church by the Rev. T. P. Solem.

He attended school in St. Ansgar and Osage and was graduated from St. Ansgar high school. His marriage to Ruth Howard of Lyle took place March 10, 1940. They lived most of their married life in St. Ansgar. Mr. Ellingson was operator of Ellingson Motors, Ford dealership here for the past two years, and continued his work until his health failed. He had been hospitalized at various times this past year in Osage and Rochester, suffering from a liver ailment.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth and two children, Darrell and Shirley, at home; a sister, Mrs. Don Asfohl of Rochester; a brother, Merle of St. Ansgar; his step-mother, Mrs. Laura Ellingson of Osage; five half-sisters and brothers: Mrs. Carl Robison of Kansas City, Missouri, Marloe and Sheryl of Osage and Gary and Larry, both in the service; also several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Hamilton in charge of the committal services.
