Ricahard (sic) Olson, one of the oldest settlers of Nevada township died Thursday, Jan. 31, 1907, after a severe illness of two months, aged about 72 years. He has been in failing health for quite a while.
He was born in Norway and came to this country in 1851 on the same ship with J. Solner of Austin. he settled in Nevada about 1862. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Swenson, daughter of Hans Swenson. The family have since resided in Nevada.
Mr. Olson was one of the most highly respected citizens of the town, upright, honorable and high-minded. He was a member of the Lutheran church. He leaves a widow and six children, two sons and four daughters.
