John P. Skolte Funeral Held At Six Mile Grove

Funeral services for John P. Skolte, 87, who died Saturday, February 13 at Comforcare Nursing Home in Austin, were held at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with the Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating.

John P. Skolte was born November 28, 1878 in Valdres, Norway, the son of Peter and Ingeborg Torsteinson. He migrated to the United States at the age of 20. In 1905 he was united in marriage to Nettie Viste at Adams, Minn. Mrs. Skolte died in 1924.

uneral services for a former Lyle area resident, Mrs. Carrie Arneson, 75, of Rosholt, S. D. were held Wednesday, January, 6 in Trondjhem rural Lutheran church with interment in the church cemetery at Rosholt.

Mrs. Arneson is the former Carrie Jacobson, daughter of the late Hans and Bridt Jacobson. She was born and reared in the Lyle and Six Mile Grove areas.

In 1908 she was married to Allen Arneson and in 1909 they moved to Rosholt where they have since resided. (Her husband preceded her in death).

Word reached relatives in this area of the death of a former Lyle resident Mrs. Sadie Bisbee Mayer, 83, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Bisbee. She died at home of her daughter, Mrs. Lee Davis at Livermore, Calif. Friday morning, October 16. Services were held at Livermore, Calif. with interment at Fort Summer, N. M. beside her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services for Allen Clark (A. C.) Bisbee, 86, who died Thursday, July 2 in St. Paul, were held Monday, July 6 at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with the Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

(A.C.) Allen Clark Bisbee, was born September 21, 1878 in Nevada township, the son of Augustus C. and Helen Houghton Bisbee.

A. (Allie) C. Bisbee, 85, of Bloomington, Minn., passed away in a St. Paul Hospital Thursday, July 2.

Mr. Bisbee was a former resident of Union township north of Toeterville where he was engaged in farming for several years.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 6, at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating with interment in the church cemetery.

He is survived by two daughters, three sons and one sister.

Miss Alice J. Thovson, 81 who has lived in Mona the past 20 years, passed away Monday March 2, at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Austin, Minn, where she and her sister had moved only last December.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 5, at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating and interment was in the church cemetery.

Funeral services for Grover C. Salisbury, 79, who died Thursday, February 20 at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital after a lingering illness, were held at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Lyle with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating. Interment was in Woodbury cemetery.

Grover Cleveland Salisbury, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Salisbury was born November 27, 1884 at Lake City, Calhoun County, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 14 for Mrs. Grover Salisbury, 82, who died Wednesday, September 11, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage following a five weeks illness.

Services were held at Our Savior's Lutheran church with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating with interment in Woodbury cemetery.

Anna Christine Garnatz Salisbury, the daughter of William and Tonie Garnatz, was born at Racine, Wis., December 18, 1880. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Auburn, Iowa, April 15, 1900.

George J. Ziegler, who has made his home the past three years with his daughter, Mrs. George Snowbeck in Lyle, died on his 78th birthday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital Osage Wednesday, February 28 following several week's illness.

George John Ziegler, was born in Jackson, Wisconsin February 28, 1884, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip Ziegler, Sr.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nick Severson, 78, a long time Lyle resident, were held at Our Savior Lutheran church in Lyle Wednesday, March 23, with interment in First Lutheran cemetery at St. Ansgar with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating.

Mrs. Severson (nee Mathilda Anderson) died last Friday, March 18, at Englewood, California, where she has lived since the death of her husband.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bert (Lillian) Hobkirk, 87. of Lyle, who died Tuesday, January 25 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, were held Friday, January 29 at Worlein's Funeral Home in Austin.

Lillian Wyborny, the daughter of Joseph and Nancy (Williams) Wyborny, was born near Lyle on May 19, 1883.

On June 10, 1908 she was married to Bert Hobkirk at Mona. They farmed near Lyle until they retired to Lyle in 1957.

She was the last member of her family of 11.

Lorenz (Larry) Franzen, 63, died Tuesday night at St. Olaf Hospital. He was a farmer in the Lyle area.

Surviving are his wife, Linda; two daughters, Mrs. Bryon (Londa) Jones, Greenville, S. C., Mrs. Jim (Lola) Vaith, Mason City, Iowa; two sons, Lyndon Franzen, Austin, Lowell Franzen, Lyle; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Tom (Anita) Orvick, Littleton, Colo., Miss Rose Franzen, Sunnyvale, Calif.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Worlein Funeral Home.
