Dewey Campbell Funeral Held September 2

Funeral services for Dewey James Campbell, 73, who died Monday, August 30 in Veterans hospital, St Paul, were held on Thursday, September 2 at Mona Lutheran church with the Rev David Ashley of Bethel Alliance church, Lyle, and the Rev Einar Unseth of Mona officiating.

Interment was in Woodbury cemetery west of Lyle.

Dewey J Campbell, son of Wilmer J. and Randena (Anderson) Campbell was born May 23, 1898 on a farm near Meltonville. On August 23, 1919, he was married to Rosa Anna Schlosser of Nora Springs and they lived in Worth and Mitchell counties before moving to Otranto in 1928. One son, Roger was born to this union. His wife Rosa Anna died in 1962.

Dewey was a lifelong resident in the area, being active as a grain and livestock dealer most of his life.

Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Arlene Campbell, his two granddaughters, Mary and Anna, all of Lyle, one brother, Robert W. of Austin, two sisters, Mrs. Florence Anderson, Austin, Mrs B.F. (Cora) Wilson of Miami, Okla., nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosa Anna; two brothers. Kenneth and Donald Campbell.
