John P. Skolte Funeral Held At Six Mile Grove

Funeral services for John P. Skolte, 87, who died Saturday, February 13 at Comforcare Nursing Home in Austin, were held at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with the Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating.

John P. Skolte was born November 28, 1878 in Valdres, Norway, the son of Peter and Ingeborg Torsteinson. He migrated to the United States at the age of 20. In 1905 he was united in marriage to Nettie Viste at Adams, Minn. Mrs. Skolte died in 1924.

On October 13, 1928 he was united in marriage to Emma Lee at Pierre, S.D. Mr. Skolte farmed near Rose Creek until 1955, when he moved to Bertha, Minn. He lived there until moving to Austin 11 months ago.

Surviving are his wife, Emma, four sons, Nordeen of Minneapolis; Kenneth of Bertha, Minn.; John of California; Philip of Minneapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Ruth) Fisher of St. Paul, and Mrs. Ted (Laura) Beeman of Austin; also 53 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews in Norway.

Burial was in the Six Mile Grove cemetery with Rev. Klemesrud in charge of the committal services.
