George J. Ziegler, who has made his home the past three years with his daughter, Mrs. George Snowbeck in Lyle, died on his 78th birthday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital Osage Wednesday, February 28 following several week's illness.

George John Ziegler, was born in Jackson, Wisconsin February 28, 1884, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip Ziegler, Sr.

Mr. Ziegler was married to Elizabeth Fisher August 10, 1905. They lived their early marriage life on a farm near Johnsburg, Minn. Then moved to a farm in Union township, northwest of Stacyville where he resided until his retirement three years ago when he came to make his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Snowbeck in Lyle, Minn.

He is survived by three daughters, (Ruth) Mrs. Walter Becker of Gardena, California; Mrs. Mrytle Yatso of Los Angeles, California and (Alice) Mrs. George Snowbeck, Lyle, Minn; two son's, Carl of Rochester, Minn. and Floyd of Los Angeles, California; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mathilda Held of Jackson, Wisconsin; two brothers, Arnold, also of Jackson, Wis. and Philip of Wilbur, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth March 12, 1919 and a son Earl July 31, 1945; his parents, and two brothers, Anthony and Arthur.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 3 at Union township Presbyterian church northwest of Stacyville with the Rev. H. A. Sinning officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Attending the services from out of town were Arnold and Aaron Ziegler, Jackson, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Philip Ziegler, Wilbur, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ziegler, Rochester; Floyd Ziegler and Mrs. Myrtle Yatso, Los Angeles, California; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Warden, Brookfield, Wis.; Robert Weber, Mukwonago, Wis., and Marvin Weber, Milwaukee, Wis.
