Mrs. Mary Fialka Enkel (sic) died at her home Friday morning. The funeral services were conducted Sunday by Rev. Bear and interment was made in the Woodbury cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs. Kautsen, mother of Ole Knutsen, who died Sunday morning was held in the Mona church Tuesday. Mrs. Knutsen was 84 years of age. Interment was made in the Mona cemetery.

Hans Jacobson, who recently came here from Clear Lake, Iowa died very suddenly from heart failure last Saturday at 2:40 p.m. at his home two miles east of the village. The deceased was about 70 years of age. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn his loss. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. Eggen at the Six Mile Grove church and interment was made in the Six Mile Grove Cemetery.

OBITUARY.

At her home in this village, Wednesday morning March 17, 1903 at seven o'clock, Mrs. Lulu Johnson, aged 18 years and nine months, passed away after an illness of about ten days.

She was born in Green Co. Wis. and came West about six years ago. On July 4th, 1902 she was married to S. A. Johnson of this village and has lived here since.

OBITUARY

We copy the following obituary of an old and respected citizen of this county, from the Transcript.

"At his home in Cedar City, Feb. 28, 1903, of cancer, Welcome Osborn, aged 78 years. He has been in failing health for over two years, and for much of the time has suffered intensely and death came as a sweet relief.

He was born near Montreal, Canada, Jan. 11, 1825, being the oldest son of Isaac and Sarah Osborn. Early left without a father's care, he learned self-dependence and knew from boyhood what hard and constant toil was.

Sunday, at Rochester, where he had gone for an operation occurred the death of Ole Lastine who lived 3 miles east of town. Deceased was about 60 years of age and leaves a wife, four sons and two daughters to whom the friends extend sympathy in their sad bereavement. The remains were brought home Monday evening. Interment was made Thursday afternoon, at the Six Mile Grove cemetery, Rev. J. M. Eggen conducted the funeral services.

After a weeks illness, Berry Bassett passed away Saturday evening. Interment was made in the Varco cemetery.

Oliver Berg and family arrived here Wednesday noon from White Rock, South Dakota, bringing with them the remains of their little baby boy, who died Monday evening at their home. The funeral occurred Thursday afternoon. Interment at Six Mile Grove cemetery.

DIED- at her home in Otranto, Iowa, Oct. 8th, 1901, of tetanus resulting from an accident, Mrs. Julia Young aged 47 years. She was born in Somerset, England, Aug. 7, 1853, and was married to Daniel Young, April 15, 1881. He was killed in a runaway accident, Dec. 15, 1900. She leaves two children, Mrs. Anna Bisbie of Forest Hill, Cal., and Mark L. Young of Otranto. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Somerville of Austin, in the Otranto church Thursday afternoon. Interment at Woodbury.

Uncle Billy Foster died this morning, April 9th, at the home of his niece Mrs. Vilena Vest. Services at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the house. Interment at the Cedar City cemetery.

At his home in Lyle township, three miles south of Enterprise, Wednesday evening, Jan. 30, 1901, after a brief illness, Carl Schlundt, aged 77 years.

He was born in Germany and just before the war of the rebellion he came to this country, settling at West Bend, Wis. In 1878, he came to Lyle township, where he has since resided.

The funeral of Mrs. Eliza Moshier was held at Austin Dec. 6th. The remains were brought to Woodbury for interment. Grandma Moshier was one of the early settlers of Woodbury and highly esteemed by a large number of friends and relatives who will greatly miss her.

Death of Mrs. Hotson.

Maria Hotson, wife of Atkin Hotson of Lyle township, died very unexpectedly. Wednesday after a brief illness with pneumonia. The announcement of her death came as a great shock to neighbors and friends many of whom were not even aware that she had been sick.

Mrs. Hotson's maiden name was Gregg. She was the eldest daughter in a family of eight children, the oldest of whom is Mr A. M. Gregg of Nevada and the youngest Mrs. Jas. Smith of Austin. The deceased would have been 50 years of age January 17th.

Mrs. Mary Sutherland of Otranto Station died last Friday night at the advanced age of 91 years. She had been quite feeble for some time past but was able to be about the house until the day of her death.

DIED.

On Monday morning, November 6th, at four o'clock, at the homestead two miles east of town, Mrs. J. M. Eggen, wife of Rev. J. M. Eggen, pastor of the Lutheran Church.

OBITUARY.

Grandma Rawn died last Monday at the residence of her son L. Rawn a mile and a half west of town. The funeral services took place at the home Wednesday morning at ten o'clock, Rev. D. W. Cram, pastor of the Congregational church, officiating. She had lived to a ripe old age, exceeding the allotted three score years and ten by over thirteen years, and her death was brought about by the natural failure of the faculties on account of her extreme age.

DIED.

At her home in Barrett, Minnesota, Wednesday March 8, 1899, of inflammation of the bowels, Mrs. Lulu Augusta Jacobson, aged 24 years.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Bisbee of Nevada and her maiden name was Lulu Bisbee. For several years she had been a successful teacher in the county schools.

In December 1897 she married Mr. Jacobson and they went to reside at Barrett. The funeral was held from the M. E. church, Saturday March 11th Rev. C. D. Belden of Austin officiating. Interment at Woodbury.

The funeral of Mrs. Simpson who died last week at Wittemore, Iowa, occurred at Mona Monday. Mrs. Simpson was an aunt of Mr. A. H. Anderson and was 76 years of age. She lived with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Blakestad at Wittemore.

DEATHS.

Hon. Gunder Halverson, a pioneer of Mower county and a very prominent and influential character in the early history of our county, died at his home in Nevada township last Thursday after a short illness with grippe.

Mr. Halverson was born in Norway January 12, 1828 and came to America in 1846. Living in Wisconsin and Illinois a few years until he became seized with the gold craze and went to California in 1852. Mr. Halverson settled in Mower county in 1855. In 1873 he was elected to represent Mower county in the state legislature.

Oscar J. Olson died very suddenly and unexpectedly Tuesday morning from pneumonia resulting from an attack of grippe. He was taken ill a week before and went to his sister's home at Austin. Sunday he became worse and was taken to the hospital where he received the best of care but got worse death ensuing Tuesday. His remains were brought to Lyle for interment Wednesday. Deceased leaves a brother and a sister.

The funeral ceremonies of Chloe Bassett were held last Sunday May 2, at Lansing, Minn.

Miss Chloe was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Bassett.

She was born in Mower county, Minn., April 1, 1889, and died Jan. 8, 1897. Remains were interred at the Enterprise cemetery, Jan. 10, 1897.

The funeral services of the late John J. Lindland were held at the Congregational church, Sunday at two o'clock p. m., Rev. J. M. Eggen conducting the ceremonies. The remains were interred at the Six Mile Grove cemetery.

It is with regret that we announce the death on March 12, of Mr. J. A. Carter, at the residence of his son D. L. Carter, three miles north of Lyle, aged 82 years. The remains were interred last Saturday in the Cedar City cemetery, Rev.'s Briggs of Austin and Moore of Lyle being the officiating clergymen. He leaves eleven children and a host of friends to mourn his untimely departure.
