Kaius Olson, 69, a former Lyle area resident now of Flandreau, S. D. died in South Dakota October 27 following a year's illness. Funeral services were held there Thursday, October 29.

Mr. Olson, the son of Carl and Malena Olson, was born in Nevada township October 18, 1895, and he attended the Lyle public school.

On June 15, 1934 he was married to Hazel Miller at Whitefish bay, Wis. He operated an oil tank for Phillips 66 in the Lyle area before moving to Minnesota where they resided in several towns before going to Flandreau in 1946 where he was engaged in farming.

He is survived by his wife Hazel, one son Lee of Madison, Wis. and one grandson; also one sister, Mrs. Nordahl (Lenore) Nelson of Lyle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Casper in infancy.

Relatives from this area attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Nordahl Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Steene, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hanson, and Myron, Mrs. Hannah Hanson; Mrs. Harry Reshaetar, Mrs. Merle Heard, Chester Nelson, Lee Nelson, Mrs. Don Feltz and Mr. and Mrs. Helmar Nelson.
