Services MRS. ALMA E. ANDERSON, 80, 3816 28TH Av. S., who died Thursday, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary; 3640 23rd Av. S., and at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, Iowa.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Risor, Norway. She was a member of Bethesda Free Church.

Survivors include five sons, Howard I., Clyde M. and Russell C., all of Minneapolis, and Merwin E. and Grant E., both of Portland, Ore., and four daughters, Mrs. Carl J. Knutson, Mrs. Clarence E. Rick, Mrs. Stan Larson, and Mrs. Alwood Lee, all of Minneapolis.

Services for CARL M. ANDERSON, 83, 3816 S. 28th Av., will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Lyle Mission church, Lyle, Minn., burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Mona, Iowa.

Born in Norway, he was a painter and decorator and had lived in Lyle before moving to Minneapolis 20 years ago. Henry W. Anderson chapel is handling arrangements.

Memorials to Bethesda Missionary fund or Heart fund are preferred.

Mrs. Silbaugh, 91, of Austin, formerly of Lyle, died Wednesday (Aug. 18 1999) at St. Mark's Lutheran Home in Austin.

Mrs. Reistad, 85, of Austin, a longtime piano teacher, died Saturday (May 22, 1999) at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center in Austin.

Bennie Olson, once of Lyle, dies at 92

LYLE -- Bennie Olson, 92, a resident of Burr Oak Manor in Austin and formerly of Lyle, died Wednesday morning (Dec. 1, 1993) at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin.

He was born July 4, 1901, in Lyle Township, Mower County, and lived in the Lyle area all his life before moving to Austin. Mr. Olson had several occupations, including farming and a position with the Lyle Police Department. He was married and later divorced.

Funeral services for Vernon Everrett Nelson, age 88, of Conger, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Church of St. Theodore in Albert Lea. The Rev. James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be at Pleasant Hills Cemetery in Mona, Iowa, with military honors accorded by the Lyle Legion Post 105. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.

Vernon died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, in Ardmore, Okla.

Funeral services for Evelyn Nelson, 83, formerly of Lime Springs, who died Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Mercy Hospital, Mason City, were held November 17, 2004.

Evelyn was born November 19, 1920 to Otto II and Alvina E (Walk) Braun. She was baptized and confirmed at Grafton Lutheran Church and attended grade school in the Grafton area, worked for local people and in 1941 boarded a train for California and married Clifford M. Nelson on December 31, 1941 at the Little Brown Church around the corner in Inglewood, California.

Miss Morgan, 64, of Heritage House in Lyle, died Sunday (Jan. 12, 1997) at Rochester Methodist Hospital.

Born Oct. 3, 1932, in Lyle, she attended Lyle schools. She did domestic work in the Lyle area and took care of her parents until their deaths.

Mrs. Meyer, 86, formerly of Austin, died Monday (Sept. 13, 1999) at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Blooming Prairie where she had resided 21 months.

AUSTIN -- Evangeline H. Krause, 82, of Route 3, Highgrove, rural Austin, died Monday (Jan. 25, 1993) at her home.

Evangeline H. Dahl was born Oct. 20, 1910, in Lyle. She and her husband, Sterling, were crown direct distributors with Amway and founded Krause Missionary Fellowship. Mr. Krause died in 1986.

Survivors include two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Genevieve Ross of Bellingham, Wash. A son preceded her in death.

Miss Klema, 79, of Kemp, Texas, formerly of the Harmony area, died Tuesday (April 27, 1999) at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana, Texas.

Survivors include two brothers, George Klema of Chatfield and Donald Klema of Kemp, Texas.

Funeral services for Oscar Hofland, 44, of Toeterville, who died as the result of an automobile accident, near Mona, Wednesday, July 29, were held at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church, Saturday, August 1, with Reverend Stanley V. Gjervik officiating.

Oscar Emmett Hofland was born July 10, 1909, in Union Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, the son of Elling and Gertrude (Engoseter) Hofland. He was baptized and confirmed in the Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church.

AUSTIN ---- Clara Helgerson, 99, of 2004 First Ave. N.E., died Sunday (July 2, 1995) at St. Marks Lutheran Home in Austin.

She was born Jan. 25, 1896, in Lyle. She attended Red Star School in rural Lyle and farmed with her brother in the Lyle area until 1975 when she moved to Austin. Mrs. Helgeson was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Lyle.

She is survived by a sister, Helen Silbaugh of Austin. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

AUSTIN -- Henry B. Helgeson, 88, of 2004 First Ave. S.E., a retired Lyle-area farmer, died Saturday (June 19, 1993) at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin.

He was born Jan. 24, 1905, at Lyle.

Survivors include two sisters, Clara Helgeson and Helen Silbaugh, both of Austin.

The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle, with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona, Iowa.

Mrs. Frank Harder

Mrs. Frank Harder was born Sept. 23, 1890, in Mitchell county, Iowa, and passed away in a hospital in Kalispell, Montana, following a paralytic stroke on Dec. 15, 1926.

She was baptized by Rev. J. M. Eggen at Lyle, Minn. At the age of 7 years she went to live with her sister, Mrs. Ole Onnestad, and was confirmed by Rev. Better of Superior. She was a graduate of the superior Wis. high school in 1910 and of the Superior state normal in 1912. She taught school at Alma Center, Wis., Whitefish, Mont., and Miles City, Mont.

Died as Result of Automobile Accident Near Lyle.

VIEW CUT OFF BY CLOSED CAR

Car Collided with Illinois Central Train at Crossing A Mile South of Lyle.

O. N. Hagna of Austin was fatally injured early Saturday afternoon, when a truck he was driving crashed into a northbound Illinois Central passenger train, at a crossing a mile south of Lyle. The train crew brought the injured man to Lyle, from where an ambulance rushed him to St. Olaf's hospital here. He died late Saturday, not having regained consciousness.

Henry Dahl obituary

Henry Gustav Dahl, born in Orfordville, Wisconsin, Oct. 1, 1871, passed away at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, Minnesota, on Nov. 13, 1956, after a brief illness. Mr. Dahl, was 85 years of age at the time of his death, which terminated 64 years of active business life, 11 years of which were spent in the hardware and implement line.
