Donald Peterson funeral is Wednesday

AUSTIN -- The funeral for Donald I. Peterson, 90, of 400 10th Ave. N.W., a former Hormel employee, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lyle, the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona, Iowa. The VFW and American Legion will perform military rites.

Mr. Peterson died Saturday (Oct. 5, 1996) at Burr Oak Manor Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 14, 1906, in Lyle. Originally from Lyle, and he worked for the railroad until joining Geo. A. Hormel Co. He never married. He was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Lyle and American Legion Post 91 and VFW Post 1216.

He is survived by several cousins.

Friends may call at the Worlein Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and at the church one hour before the service.
