AUSTIN -- The funeral for Harriett L. Reistad will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. James I. Mikkelson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona, Iowa.

Mrs. Reistad, 85, of Austin, a longtime piano teacher, died Saturday (May 22, 1999) at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center in Austin.

Harriett Larson was born on Feb. 5, 1914, in Northwood, Iowa, attended Lyle schools and McPhail Conservatory of Music. She married Chester Reistad on Aug. 31, 1934, in Duluth. Mrs. Reistad was a piano teacher in the Lyle and Austin areas for more than 50 years. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway, DOES, Minnesota Music Teachers Association, Piano Guild and The Music Performance Group of Austin.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Jean Anderson of Austin; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mona (Mrs. William G.) Huesel of Hooper, Neb. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Friends may call at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and at the church one hour before the service Tuesday.
