Clara Helgerson (sic), 99, of Austin, dies

AUSTIN ---- Clara Helgerson, 99, of 2004 First Ave. N.E., died Sunday (July 2, 1995) at St. Marks Lutheran Home in Austin.

She was born Jan. 25, 1896, in Lyle. She attended Red Star School in rural Lyle and farmed with her brother in the Lyle area until 1975 when she moved to Austin. Mrs. Helgeson was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Lyle.

She is survived by a sister, Helen Silbaugh of Austin. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lyle, with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona, Iowa.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Clasen-Jorden Mortuary in Austin and one hour before service at the church on Thursday.
