I. I. Anderson Rites Held At Six Mile Grove

Funeral rites for Ingebright I. Anderson, 77, a lifelong Lyle area man and retired farmer, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage Wednesday, December 30 following several strokes, were held Saturday, January 2 at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating.

Mr. Anderson, who resided alone on a farm about five miles east of Lyle, was found by neighbor, Rufus Frank, on the floor of his home after suffering a stroke December 22.

A. O. Austinson Funeral Rites Held Wednesday

A well known Lyle and Rose Creek area man, A. O. Austinson, age 74, who has been a farmer, auctioneer and stock buyer, died very suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Rose Creek Sunday evening just after he had retired for bed.

Funeral services were Wednesday, August 5, at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with interment in the church cemetery.

Funeral services for a Lyle resident John I. Johnson, age, 78, held at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Lyle Thursday, July 28 with Rev. Stanley Klemesurd officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

John I. Johnson was born June 14, 1882 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Inbebret Johnson in Mitchell county, near Lyle. He passed away July 25 at the Jacob's Rest Home in Austin, Minn. where he has been cared for the past six years.

Funeral services for Henry Stromley, 89, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center November 27, 1977, were held November 30 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle, Minnesota with the Rev. Harold Luceke (sic) officiating.

Henry Stromley, the son of Ole and Kari (Fadness) Stromley was born near Mona, Iowa December 19, 1887. He was baptized by the Rev. O.T. Lee and confirmed by the Rev. O.A. Saver at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran church.

Six Mile Grove steeple was removed July 22. On hand were several Grove members and friends, Larry Aanonson, Jeff Helle, Rick Murphy, David Anderson, Eric Douglas, Bryce Nelson and Russ Sampson.

This 1884 bell tower has a long history of service at Six Mile Grove. A new tower is being built and the bell will be used again.

The Six Mile Grove 125th church book stated work on the church began in 1867, and was completed in 1888. The Ladies Aide purchased the bell.

Phyllis L. (Helle) Jacobson, 85, of Lyle, Minnesota, died Saturday, May 21, 2016 at her home.

Service: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church in rural Lyle, Minnesota.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Interment: Interment will be in Six Mile Grove Lutheran Cemetery.

Funeral home: Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.

Melba L. Myhre, 99

Melba L. Myhre, 99, of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday, March 18, 2016, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center in Austin.

Melba Luella was born Oct. 13, 1916, in Nevada Township, Mower County, Minnesota, to Hans and Mollie (Olson) Sampson. She attended country school and graduated from Lyle High School. She was a longtime devoted member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church in rural Lyle, Minnesota. Melba was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and all who were blessed to have known her.

Glen Arnold Aanonson, 96

Glen Arnold Aanonson, 96, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at the Adams Health Care Center, Adams, Minnesota.

He was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Nevada Township, Mower County, Minnesota, to Lewis and Ethel (Hofland) Aanonson. Glen attended country schools and graduated from the eighth grade. He was married to Irene Walk on May 9, 1943. They had two sons: Leland and Larry.
