A. O. Austinson Rites August 5

Austin O. Austinson, son of Ole and Andi Austinson was born in Nevada township, August 25, 1884. He died at his home in Rose Creek Sunday, August 2, at the age of 74.

He married Jennie Hofland January 31, 1909 at the Mona Lutheran church. The couple celebrated their golden wedding last January.

He was a well known lifelong resident of Mower county and farmed until 1941. He also worked as an auctioneer and a stock buyer in the Lyle, Rose Creek and Austin area. At the time of his death he was Justice of Peace of Rose Creek and served on the Nevada township board.

He is survived, by his wife, Jennie, a brother, Herman of Lyle, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at Six-Mile Grove Lutheran church Wednesday, August 5, with the Rev. Ernest Stolen officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
