Gertrude Hofland obituary
Gertrude Josephine Hofland was born in Stoughton, Wis., the 24th of June, 1864, and died the 10th day of September 1922 at the age of 58 years 2 months and 16 days. At the age of one year she moved with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Erick Erickson to a farm in Mitchell Co., Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. In the year 1886, Feb. 24th she was united in marriage, at Mona, to Andrew Hofland, who survives her. They always made their home around Lyle. To them were born four children, all of whom are living in this vicinity: Mrs. A. O. Austinson, Mrs. L, O Aanonson Arthur Hofland and Andy. She is also survived by four grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Iver Hofland,
Mrs. John I. Johnson, both of Lyle, and Mrs. John O. Thorstad of Thief River, Falls. The funeral service was held at the Six Mile Grove church Wednesday afternoon Sept. 13th, interment being made in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. Brenna of Adams.
