Henry Stromley Funeral Held November 30

Funeral services for Henry Stromley, 89, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center November 27, 1977, were held November 30 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle, Minnesota with the Rev. Harold Luceke (sic) officiating.

Henry Stromley, the son of Ole and Kari (Fadness) Stromley was born near Mona, Iowa December 19, 1887. He was baptized by the Rev. O.T. Lee and confirmed by the Rev. O.A. Saver at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran church.

May 23, 1916 he was married to Irene Larson by the Rev. O. M. Moe at Lyle, Minnesota. They established their home on a farm in Otranto Township where they farmed all their married life. Two sons and two daughters were born to them. Henry dedicated his life to his family and his church. After his health failed he spent his time gardening and raising flowers for his friends and relatives and altar flowers for his church.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; two daughters, Mrs. Loren (Orphie) Kohlman of Brighton, Colorado*, Mr and Mrs. Dean (Hazel) Lewis of Fairmont, Minnesota; two sons, Orven (Bud) Stromley of St. Ansgar, and Sylvan of Lyle; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Gilman (Jennie) Butler, Northwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers: Martin, Andrew, Carl, Oscar, Christian, Edwin, Keyser, and Raymond; also three sisters: Mrs. John (Clara) Thompson, Mrs. Anton (Rognild) Dydland and Mrs., Clifford (Ella) Estheridge.

Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Mona, with Rev. Luecke in charge of committal services.
