FUNERAL RITES FOR SLINDE INFANT

Funeral services for one-month-old Michael Allan Slinde, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Slinde were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18 at the Adams Funeral home in Adams, Minn., with the Rev. Truman Mohn officiating. Interment was in Six-Mile Grove Lutheran cemetery.

Michael Allan was born May 19 at Memorial hospital in Osage and had a serious heart condition right after birth. At the age of two weeks he was taken to the University hospital in Minneapolis where he died Thursday, June 16, following heart surgery the day before.

Knut Lasten Rites Held At Six Mile Grove

One of Nevada township's oldest pioneers, Knut O. Lasten, 87, died at Mercy hospital in Mason City, Tuesday, March 22, after a three and a half weeks' illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 26, at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating with interment in the church cemetery.

Knut O. Lasten was born July 5, 1872 in Nevada township, Mower county on a farm where he had resided all his life. He was the son of Ingeborg and Ole Lasten.

I. I. Anderson Rites Held At Six Mile Grove

Funeral rites for Ingebright I. Anderson, 77, a lifelong Lyle area man and retired farmer, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage Wednesday, December 30 following several strokes, were held Saturday, January 2 at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating.

Mr. Anderson, who resided alone on a farm about five miles east of Lyle, was found by neighbor, Rufus Frank, on the floor of his home after suffering a stroke December 22.

The remains of Mrs. Ole Linde, whose death was announced last week were brought to Lyle from Grand Forks last Sunday afternoon and laid to rest in the family lot in the Six Mile Grove cemetery.

The deceased was born near Calmar, Iowa, January 22nd, 1861, where she grew to womanhood. Later the family moved to this vicinity, and about eighteen years ago she was united in marriage to Ole Linde. Until about three years ago the family made their residence, at Lyle and Adams. They then moved to Grand Forks, N. D., where Mr. Linde was engaged in carpenter work.

Steven A. Nelson, 64

Steven A. Nelson passed away on Jan. 23, 2016, in Tucson, Arizona, due to complications of pancreatic cancer.

Steve was born in Austin, Minnesota, Aug. 22, 1951, to Dale and Elaine Nelson. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Rose Creek High School in 1969 and Austin Vocational Tech. in 1971. Following school, he farmed near Rose Creek. He later worked at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home, Austin, and CCI in Rochester. Steve married Sue Daiker in 1979. They resided near Rose Creek for 36 years. They had recently moved to Tucson.

Phyllis L. (Helle) Jacobson, 85, of Lyle, Minnesota, died Saturday, May 21, 2016 at her home.

Service: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church in rural Lyle, Minnesota.

Visitation: Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Interment: Interment will be in Six Mile Grove Lutheran Cemetery.

Funeral home: Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.

Melba L. Myhre, 99

Melba L. Myhre, 99

Melba L. Myhre, 99, of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday, March 18, 2016, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center in Austin.

Melba Luella was born Oct. 13, 1916, in Nevada Township, Mower County, Minnesota, to Hans and Mollie (Olson) Sampson. She attended country school and graduated from Lyle High School. She was a longtime devoted member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church in rural Lyle, Minnesota. Melba was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and all who were blessed to have known her.

A goodly number attended the Memorial Service, Sunday afternoon, sponsored by the Masonic Lodge, in honor of their deceased brother, K. A. Knutson.

The members gathered at the hall, and marched in a body to the church, there being twenty-two in line.

Mr. Beach presided at the service, and introduced the speaker, Reginald Coleman, B. D., minister of the Presbyterian church at Austin.

Glen Arnold Aanonson, 96

Glen Arnold Aanonson, 96, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at the Adams Health Care Center, Adams, Minnesota.

He was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Nevada Township, Mower County, Minnesota, to Lewis and Ethel (Hofland) Aanonson. Glen attended country schools and graduated from the eighth grade. He was married to Irene Walk on May 9, 1943. They had two sons: Leland and Larry.
