Theo. Running, who was taken sick some three weeks ago, passed away at Rochester Wednesday morning. After he was taken to the hospital he did not have any rest, the physicians report, and death came as an end to his suffering.

The deceased was born in Mitchell county, Iowa, August 2, 1879, where the family lived until 1887 when they moved on the farm three miles west of Lyle, where he lived until his death. He was of a quiet disposition and a hard worker. His death came while he was in the prime of life, and his friends mourn.

Obituary

Nels Robertson, who had been ill with pneumonia at his home in Mona passed away last Saturday afternoon about 6 o'clock. He was longing for the time to come when he could leave this life for the better and great Beyond.

The deceased was born in Denmark, January 20, 1836, where he lived until the spring of 1887 when he came to this country and settled on a farm in Worth county, Iowa. Seven years ago he moved to Mona where he lived until his death.

OBITUARY.

During the past week the angel of death visited our village and two lives responded to its call. One of the victims, who is the subject of this sketch had been laid low by the white plague. Tuberculosis and death came after nearly five years of pain and suffering. Treatments of various kinds and operations gave him no relief. For the past year and a half the deceased has been confined to his bed and while he was hopeful of recovering, death only could end the terrible agony and suffering he endured.

OBITUARY

John Peterson. a young man well known in this vicinity, died Sunday morning, at St. Olaf's Hospital in Austin, of typhoid fever. Mr. Peterson who had not been feeling well for several days, was taken sick May 1st and was taken to the hospital the following day. Mr. Peterson's case not considered serious and the news of his death came as a shock to the community.

The deceased was the son of Mrs. Elverum, who resides 3 miles west of town.

Funeral services for Mrs. Charley Peterson, were held on Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Mona Lutheran church with Rev. S. Stenson officiating. Interment was at the Pleasant Hill cemetery south of Mona.

Jennie Johnson Peterson, daughter of the late Bernt and Johnna Johnson was born on March, 7, 1876 at the Mona, and the only surviving member of the Johnson family passed away January, 9, 1958 at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 2 days.

Carl Ries obituary

Carl William Ries, son of Mr and Mrs John Ries, was born in Mower County, Minnesota, January 5, 1884. He was married to Amanda Torgeson in 1912 and to them were born 2 children: Carroll and Phyllis.

For the past 38 years he had been an employee of the Illinois Central Railroad Co.

After an illness of several weeks, he passed away on Nov. 28 in Naeve hospital, in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

News of the sudden death of Carl Reuter, prominent farmer and citizen reached Lyle friends Tuesday morning. It was indeed a shock to all as only a few close friends realized that he was in the best of health.

OBITUARY CARL REUTER.

The community was greatly shocked Monday evening when word came of the passing of Carl Reuter.

Mr. Reuter was born May 5th, 1878 in Javer, Germany. He was the third son of Gerd and Gesina Reuter. At the age of fourteen years he came alone to America to live with his uncle at Monticello, Iowa.

In 1897 he was united in marriage to Margaret Siebels of Monticello. To this union three daughters were born. Mrs. Reuter passed away August 11th, 1906.

Last Friday evening as Miss Alma Rasmussen was preparing to retire, she was seized with a sudden heart attack, and passed away within fifteen minutes. Miss Rasmussen had known for some time that conditions were not normal, but had not taken the warnings seriously, and continued as usual with her round of duties and social activities, ever jolly and smiling, full of life and vigor.

Miss Alma Rasmusson was born in Larvik, Norway, September 30, 1890, and passed away suddenly at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Halvor Blakestad, at Lyle, February 10, at 10:30 p.m. She had been in apparent good health until the time of her death.

Miss Alma was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in her home town. In 1908 she came to America and has made her home with her aunt since that time.
