CARL REUTER DIED SUDDENLY
MONDAY EVENING

News of the sudden death of Carl Reuter, prominent farmer and citizen reached Lyle friends Tuesday morning. It was indeed a shock to all as only a few close friends realized that he was in the best of health.

Mr. Reuter had been over to the old farm in Lyle Township for some farm machinery, and after returning assisted with the chores as usual, at the home of his son, on the Wendell farm near Rose Creek where he has been staying since he sold out a few months ago. Milking was finished and he and his son were about to go to the house when Carl groaned and fell. Dr. Johnson of Lyle was called but there was no help as Mr. Reuter had passed away almost immediately.

The deceased was 58 years and six days old. He formerly resided on a farm just west of Mona. During the land boom he sold the farm and purchased the Dufty farm on the north line of Lyle Township, where he resided until a couple months ago, when he had a sale.

Carl possessed a cheerful disposition, and had friends wherever he was known.

The funeral is being held this Thursday afternoon from the Local Lutheran church, Rev. Langehough and the Masons officiating.
