MRS. GUNILD REIERSON
OBITUARY

Announcement of the death of Mrs. Gunild Reierson of Austin brought a shock to her old friends in this community where she had spent many years of her life in pleasant association with neighbors and friends. She passed away at the age of 95, Monday morning, Jan. 9th at 5:30.

Mrs. Reierson was born July 31, 1843 in Norway. She came to the United States as a young girl and located in Wisconsin, where she married February 22, 1865 to Thurston Reierson. They moved to a homestead in Mitchell County, Iowa and resided there until the death of Mr. Reierson June 22, 1898. She then moved to Lyle where she made her home until 1920, when she and her daughter, Mrs. Jennie Hagna, moved to Austin.

Mrs. Reierson was a pioneer, and experienced many hardships but had time to make friends and these associations have been a blessing throughout her life. She outlived most of the early associates but the memory of old friends was a comfort in her declining days. She was deprived of her sight for a number of yrs, but cheerful and uncomplaining as time sped on.

Mrs. Reierson is survived by one daughter Mrs. Clara Mosena, of Milwaukee, who was with her when she passed away; and one son, R. Reierson of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by nine grandchildren. Two daughters preceded their mother in death, Mrs. Bessie Weber of Chicago, and Mrs. Jennie Hagna of Austin who had been the mother's nurse and companion for many years, and preceded her in death by only a week.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Jordan Mortuary, Rev. Noss of the Austin Lutheran church officiating. Interment was in the family lot in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Mona Iowa.
