AUSTIN -- There will be a memorial service for Roger A. Olson at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Bruce Wilder officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 91. Spring burial will be in Cedar City Cemetery in rural Austin.
Mr. Olson, 46, of Route 1, Austin, a carpenter, died Friday evening (Jan. 3, 1997) at his home after a four-year illness with cancer.
Carol M. Ashton-Olson, 63, formerly of Austin, died at her home in Pima, Ariz., on Saturday. Arrangements for a memorial service are pending.
Patricia A. Heiny, 85
In loving memory of Patricia Ann Heiny, 85, who peacefully passed from this life to eternal life on May 24, 2016, in DeBary, Florida.
Patricia was born June 25, 1930, to Martin and Esther O’Marro. Married to James Heiny March 2, 1950. They have six surviving children; Deborah Van Ravenhorst, Craig Heiny, Mike Heiny (Maxine Tasker), Bill Heiny, Jon Heiny, Amy Heiny (Mark Buringrud); who were happily and healthily raised in the small burg of Lansing, Minnesota.
After a protracted illness, and very painful, Mr. John Niles died recently at his late residence in the town of Lyle. He was regarded by all who knew him as a good man. He leaves a widow and two children, who have the sympathy of the neighborhood.

Mrs. Niles died Tuesday night in Minneapolis.
The remains of Mrs. J. B. Niles were brought to Cedar City for burial Friday. Mrs. Niles was a resident of Cedar City many years ago but has recently lived in Minneapolis.
--DIED.-- Amy L. Niles departed this life, Wednesday, March 16th, 1881 at 2 A.M., aged 13 years, 4 months, 18 days.
The funeral took place on Thursday, at 11 1/2 A.M., at the residence of Mrs. Didamia Niles, who is the widow of the late John B. Niles of Lyle. Prayer was offered at the house, from thence proceeded to Cedar City school house where a suitable sermon was preached by Rev. A. Cressey of Austin. The funeral was attended by a large number of friends, and the body buried beside her father and two others of the family in the Cemetery of Cedar City.

Mrs. Nelson, 74, of Austin, died Tuesday (April 19, 2005) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Mr. Nelson, 81, of Austin, died Saturday (Jan. 12, 2008) at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Mr. Nelson, 56, of Route 2, Austin, died today (Sept. 11, 1996) at his home.
He was born Dec. 23, 1939, in Austin, and graduated from Austin High School. He was employed at Hormel Foods Corp. in Austin.

David Clare Neiswanger, 83, Austin, dies
AUSTIN -- David Clare Neiswanger, 83, of Route 3, former editor of The Unionist, died of diabetes and prostate cancer Tuesday (Jan. 2, 1996) at Comforcare Care Center in Austin after a long illness.

AUSTIN — An interment service for Rachel M. Neiswanger will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cedar City Cemetery, six miles south of Austin on Highway 105.

Earl J. Mudra Jr. — Austin
AUSTIN — The funeral for Earl J. Mudra Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin. Interment will be in Cedar City Cemetery, rural Austin.
Mr. Mudra, 54, died unexpectedly Tuesday (May 27, 2008), in his sleep.
Earl Joseph Mudra Jr. was born June 26, 1953, in Austin. He grew up and attended school in Austin. Mr. Mudra worked various jobs.
--The funeral of Eben L. Merry occurred last Thursday, in charge of McIntyre Post of this city, Chaplain Rev. W. E. Stanley conducting the services. The remains were buried in Cedar City cemetery.
MERRY.
At her home in the west part of the city, Tuesday morning, April 3, 1900, of old age, Mrs. Catherine Merry, aged nearly 85 years.
Catherine McLaughlin was born in June, 1815, in the parish of Lougfield, county of Tyrone, Ireland. Her father had a good dairy farm and was well off. He died when she was 18 years old. She came to America with acquaintances at the age of 22 and worked out for several years in Albany, N. Y., where her cousins lived. She was married there to Eben Lewis Merry.
Funeral Tuesday for Clarice Meineke, 90
The funeral for Clarice M. Meineke, 90, a longtime Austin resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Crane Community Chapel in Austin, with the Revs. Joe Matt and David Matt officiating. Interment will be at the Cedar City Cemetery in rural Austin.
Mrs. Meineke died Thursday at St. Mark's Lutheran Home in Austin.
WILLIAM MEADOWCROFT
William Meadowcroft, aged 55 years, died Monday evening, Feb. 19 1912, at his home in Minneapolis of a stroke. We have not full particulars as we write.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Meadowcroft and was born near Janesville, Wis., in May, 1856. About 1864, he came with his parents to London township where he grew up. He was married about thirty years ago to Miss Sophronia Osborn. Most of their married life has been spent in Austin. They moved to Minneapolis about two years ago.
Lorraine Mary McFarland, 91
Lorraine Mary McFarland, 91, of Austin, passed away on Sept. 12, 2013, in East Troy, Wis.
Lorraine was born to Sylvester and Esther O’Marro on Oct. 26, 1921, in Calmar, Iowa.
They returned to Austin when she was a young child and lived in Dutch Town. She graduated from Austin High School in 1939.
Lorraine worked at Hormel Foods during World War II. She married Calvin Johnson, but they were only married a year when “Ike” passed away of an undetected heart problem.
