Ray Wayne Libersky, 82

Ray Wayne Libersky, 82, of Lyle, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at his home of cancer.

He was born Feb. 10, 1920, to Joseph and Luella (Halverson) Libersky in St. Ansgar, Iowa. He grew up in St. Ansgar, Iowa and attended schools in Lyle.

He served four years in the U.S. Army, fighting in Africa and Italy during World War II.

On Sept. 1, 1945, he married Evelyn Ruiter in Nashua, Iowa.

Ray worked in the sausage department at Hormel for 35 years, retiring in 1980.

LYLE — The funeral for Dr. Larry D. Libersky will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, with the Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona, Iowa, with the Lyle American Legion providing military honors.

Dr. Libersky, 60, of Magdalena, N.M., formerly of Lyle, died Saturday (March 10, 2007) in Albuquerque, N.M.

Evelyn Libersky, 88, of Lyle, died Sunday evening, May 29, 2011.

She was born to John and Tena (Koenen) Ruiter on Sept. 19, 1922. After traveling with her father’s work as railroad depot agent, Evelyn’s family made Lyle their home. As a young woman, she worked at the local soda fountain where she met Ray Wayne Libersky. She married Wayne on Sept. 1, 1945, in Nashua, Iowa upon his return from WWII. They built their home in Lyle where she lived for over 65 years.

LYLE — The funeral for Marion I. Larson will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle, with the Rev. Barb Finley-Shea officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona, Iowa.

Mrs. Larson, 90, of Lyle, died Tuesday (April 10, 2007) at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.

--Mr. Lars Larson, aged 92 years, died last week at the home of his son-in-law, Martin J. Hanson, three miles south of Mona. Mr. Larson was the father of seven children, two of which have long since passed to the golden shore. Among the five children yet living are Mrs. M. J. Hanson and Mrs. Martin Larson, in the vicinity of Mona. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Eggen and his remains were consigned to their last resting place in the new Mona cemetery. --Lyle Tribune.

Martin Larson died at his home Thursday of heart trouble. Funeral services were held at the church conducted by Rev. Eggen. Deceased was laid in his last resting place in sunny side cemetery. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss.

Last Rites Held for Dr. A. A. Lee, 77

Funeral services for Dr. A. A. Lee age, 77 of Lyle were held Tuesday, Jan. 27, at our Savior Lutheran church in Lyle with the Rev. Melvin Hauge, Pastor St. Olaf Lutheran in Austin, officiating.

Dr. Lee passed away at his home January 24 from a heart condition following several strokes.

He was Lyle's only dentist and he practiced there continuously for 45 years until his health failed in July, 1956 following a stroke.

Mrs. Anna C. Larson, 97, long time Mona area resident, died Sunday, January 14 in Osage at the Erdman sisters home where she had been cared for the past six and a half years.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 17 at Mona Lutheran church where she had been a member for the past 75 years, with Rev. S. Klemesrud officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

He resided at 1309 4th Ave. NE, and is survived by his widow, Gina; a brother and sister in Norway, Funeral services will be held Monday.

Mrs. Anna Knutson, the deceased was born in Solor, Norway Feb. 4th 1922. She came to America together with her parents while she was a little girl. The family came directly to Mitchell County, where they lived on a farm for a few years, and then came to Mower Co. In the year 1874 she was united in marriage to Ole Knutson. They lived in the village of Lyle 16 years after which they moved to the farm on which she lived at the time of her death.
