Olive Marie, the three months old baby girl of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Fossey of Rhame, N.D., was brought here for burial Saturday. The little one died from injuries sustained in an accident on the 20th when Mr. and Mrs. Fossey and the little one, accompanied by Mrs. Fossey's sister Miss Corde Hanson of Osage were returning from Rhame and the buggy upset and the occupants were thrown out. Miss Hanson had both arms broken. The little child only lived a couple of hours after the accident.

Funeral services for Edward Gould, 74, who died in an auto accident here December 31, were held at the Mona Lutheran church on Saturday afternoon, January 5 with the Rev. Stanley V. Gjervik officiating.

Mr. Gould, an electrician, was a lifelong resident of Mitchell county. He is survived by his wife of St. Ansgar and a son, Kermit Gould of Hermosa Beach, California; also five brothers and one sister.

The late Mr. Gould was born March 30, 1877 in Mona.

Mrs. Otto Fossey funeral

Mrs. Henry Thompson, of Milaca, Minn., came last week to attend the funeral of Mrs. Otto Fossey, who died suddenly Sunday evening, August 26. The funeral services were held on last Wednesday afternoon at the Lutheran church at Mona. Mr. Fossey and his children have the sincere sympathy of this community.

LYLE -- The funeral for Joseph Albert Follmuth will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle, with the Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona, Iowa, with military rites by Lyle American Legion Post 105.

Mr. Follmuth, 71, of rural St. Ansgar, Iowa, a longtime area dairy and grain farmer, died Thursday, (July 31, 2003) at Rochester Methodist Hospital.

Funeral services for Dorothy Duenow, 70, of Rochester, MN, who died Thursday, November 21, were held Saturday, November 23 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lyle, Minn., with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating.

Dorothy Rose Duenow was born February 9, 1921 in Otranto Township, Mitchell County, to Roy and Bessie (Berg) Duenow. She was baptized and confirmed at Mona Lutheran Church. She received her elementary education at the Mona School and graduated from Luther College with a BA degree in education.

Memorial services for Dale B. Duenow, 55, of St. Ansgar, who died March 30, were held April 4 at Schroeder Funeral Home here with the Rev. Harold Luecke, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran church, Lyle, and the Rev. Rob Porter, pastor of the St. Ansgar Baptist church, officiating.

Dale Beaman Duenow was born April 20, 1925 in Otranto township, the son of Roy and Bessie (Berg) Duenow. He attended school at Mona Elementary and Lyle High School. He was baptized and confirmed in the Mona Lutheran church.

Funeral Services Wednesday for Sorine Christianson

Funeral services were held form the Mona Lutheran church Wednesday for Sorine Christianson, 78, who died Sunday as the result of a tumor.

Sorine Samuelson Christianson was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Samuelson and was born in Norway on October 14, 1860. Services were in charge of Rev. Langehough, pastor of the Mona church. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.

A lifelong resident, Miss Minnie Christianson, 78, died Friday morning, September 10 at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar where she had resided since June.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 12 at Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. S. Klemesrud officiating and interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

Funeral services for Miss Clara Christiansen, 76, who died Sunday, July 11, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in St. Ansgar, were held Wednesday, July 14 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating.

Until taking up residency at the center about two weeks ago, Miss Christiansen had lived her entire life in the house in Mona where she was born January 21, 1889. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Christiansen.

Funeral services for Gilbert Carlson, who passed away so suddenly last Wednesday following a heart attack, were held Saturday, April 5, at the Mona Lutheran church with Pastor S. Stenson officiating with interment in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Gilbert Oliver Carlson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Carlson, was born on May 25, 1888, on a farm south of Mona in Mitchell County, Iowa.

Funeral services were held this afternoon for Mrs. Charles Carlson, age 61, at the Mona Norwegian Lutheran church where she was a member.

Mrs. Charles Carlson, nee Gundie Johnson, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernt Johnson of Mona. Death came suddenly last Monday evening, May 16, following a heart attach. She is survived by her husband and two children. Mrs. Albin Nelson, a daughter, lives at Lyle; Galin Carlson, a son, lives at Minneapolis.

Funeral services for John O. Christianson, 88, were held yesterday afternoon at the Mona Lutheran church, the Rev. O. T. Boe officiating.

Mr. Christianson was born in Norway on May 6, 1861, and he passed away in Mona on Sept. 11.

Burial was at Pleasant Hill cemetery near Mona. Alfred Larson, Larden Halvorson, Chris Nelson, Adolph Jahr, Rudolph Haugland and Peter Nelson were pall bearers.

Lila Larson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Larson, was born Feb. 23, 1905 near Mona. She was baptized and confirmed into the Norwegian Lutheran church. March 4, 1924 she was united in marriage to Emanual M. Barclay. To this union were born four children. Besides her husband Mrs. Barclay is survived by her children, Milo age 6; Robert 4; Audrey 3; and Richard 8 months; also her parents and 5 sisters and 5 brothers: Mrs. B. Theo. Arneson obituary

Theo. Arneson, one of this community's old and respected citizens died rather suddenly Monday evening at 11:05 from angina pectoris of the heart, at his home, west of Mona. The deceased was a very conscientious citizen, and kind neighbor. He was about 73 years of age. The funeral will be held at the Mona church, Friday afternoon at 12:30.
