Funeral services for a lifelong Mona area farmer, Peter E. Anderson, 80, were held Wednesday, August 13 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. S. Klemesrud of Highland, Minn. officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

Mr. Anderson died Sunday, August 10 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center.

Peter Edwin Anderson was born February 21, 1889 on the farm where he had lived his entire life west of Mona in Mitchell County. He was the son of Andrew and Camilla Anderson.

Mrs. A. H. Anderson died Tuesday morning of tuberculosis after an illness of more than two years during which time she had been treated by a number of skilled physicians at home and at Chicago and St. Paul. At times it appeared as if the physicians would be successful in curing her but a few months ago Mrs. Anderson began to get worse and it soon became apparent that she could not survive long.

The funeral services will be held at Mona church Friday at 2 o'clock.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nils Anderson, who died at her home in Lyle early Thursday morning, February 15, from a heart attack were held Saturday, February 17 at Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery south of Mona.

Mrs. Anderson had just observed her eight-second birthday anniversary Sunday, February 11.

Grace Margrette (Nelson) Anderson

Funeral services were held Monday, December 3, 2001 at Mona Lutheran Church for Grace Margrette (Nelson) Anderson, age 87, formerly of Mona and Lyle. Rev. Lydia Mittag officiated. Grace died Nov. 29, 2001 at the White Bear Lake Care Center, White Bear Lake, MN. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona.

Grace was born the daughter of Fred and Carrie (Johnson) Nelson on Feb. 8, 1914 in Mitchell County. She was baptized and confirmed at the Mona Lutheran Church. She was a member of Mona Lutheran and presently a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, North St. Paul, MN.

Joy I. Nelson Funeral Held At Mona Lutheran

Funeral services for Mrs. Joy I. Nelson, 69, of Mona, who died February 11, were held February 14 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Gaylord Grant officiating.

Joy I. Nelson was born October 18, 1914 in LuVerne, the only child of George and Minnie (Legler) Watkinson. She was graduated from Garner high school and received a teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She taught school for several years in rural schools in Hudson, Akron, Union township and Otranto.
