At Mona Lutheran

Funeral services for a lifelong Mona area farmer, Peter E. Anderson, 80, were held Wednesday, August 13 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. S. Klemesrud of Highland, Minn. officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

Mr. Anderson died Sunday, August 10 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center.

Peter Edwin Anderson was born February 21, 1889 on the farm where he had lived his entire life west of Mona in Mitchell County. He was the son of Andrew and Camilla Anderson.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Mona Lutheran church his entire life. He attended Mona school.

On December 4, 1939 he was united in marriage to Ruth Christianson of Mona.

He was active in the community and had served as secretary of the Mona School Board for 22 years; secretary of Lyle Creamery for 17 years; member of the State Brand Creamery Board in Mason City for six years and Otranto twp. assessor for many years.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth, two brothers, Victor, Mona and Carl, Minneapolis, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
