THE OBITUARY OF MRS. G. O. BLAKESTAD
Mrs. Ingeborg Jeglum-Blakestad was born Oct. 11, 1853, in Allamakee county, Iowa, where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Here she remained until womanhood when she came to Otranto, Mitchell county, where she was united in marriage to Gullick O. Blakestad in July 1st, 1875, by Rev. Olson of St. Ansgar. They made their home at the Blakestad homestead where she resided continuously until her death.

Mrs. Magnus Hanson received a message announcing the death of her brother, Gus Johnson, last week Wednesday. He was buried in the family lot in Pleasant Hill cemetery Friday afternoon. Mr. Johnson was raised to manhood on the farm southeast of Mona, now owned by Chas. Libersky.
DIED FRIDAY MORNING.
Mrs. Gena Jahr who has been very ill for some time at the home of her sister at Lamont, Iowa, passed away Friday morning at 1:30. The remains will be brought here for burial.

Funeral Held
August 27
Funeral services for Ole H. Helgeson, 78, were held Wednesday, August 27 at Our Savior's Lutheran church, Lyle, with the Rev. M. Johnson officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Mona.
Mr. Helgeson died Sunday, August 24 from a heart attack.
Ole H. Helgeson, the son of Hans and Bertha (Olson) Helgeson, was born in Lyle twp. May 26, 1891. He was baptized and confirmed in the Mona Lutheran church. He attended the Red Start School near Lyle and lived in Mower county all his life.
MRS. OLGA HOFLAND
Mrs. Olga Hofland, 71, died unexpectedly this morning at St. Olaf Hospital. She resided at 2111 4th Dr. SW.
Surviving are a daughter, a Gladys; a nephew, Harlan Johnson, who made his home with the Hofland family; a sister, Mrs. Palma Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon.

Funeral services for Sidney Morris Hofland, 86, of Lyle, Minn., who died Sunday, May 10 at Preston Care Center, Preston, Minn., were held Tuesday May 12 at Schroeder & Sites, Inc. Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Gaylord Grant officiating.
Anfin Hofland died Monday noon at the home of his son Ed, aged 83 years. Two years ago last Chistmas eve he fell down and got hurt and since that he has been a sufferer. he leaves a wife, six sons and one daughter to mourn his loss, all residing here except one son living at Minot, N. D. and one son and daughter at Houlton, Wis. The funeral took place Thursday at the Mona church.

OBITUARY
Horace E. Hofland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole A. Hofland of Austin died at the home of his parents Nov. 20th after a week illness with influenza, followed by pneumonia and liver trouble.
Horace was born Mar 6, 1886, in Mitchell County, and at the time of his death was 22 years, 8 mo. and 14 days. A year ago this fall he was taken sick with pleurisy and pneumonia and liver trouble, and since then has never been strong.

The remains of the late Mrs. O. A. Hofland were brought to Lyle Monday for interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Obituary
Willie, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Hofland, died at the home of his parents, Dec. 28th, of consumption.
He was born, Oct. 7th 1890 and has always lived in this vicinity. He had been in good health until last spring when he contracted a cold, which settled on his lungs. Although help was sought from the best physicians, he never recovered.
He was a kind and agreeable lad and had a host of friends will cherish his memory.

Miss Minnie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Hofland died at the home of her parents, Wednesday March 30 about noon from consumption.

Held In Austin
J. L. (Roy) Hobkirk, 76, veteran Lyle barber died at St. Olaf hospital in Austin, Thursday, July 27, following a paralytic stroke, having been ill only seriously for a period of ten days. He learned the barber trade when a very young man and retired in 1958 after 59 years having spent 50 years in Lyle. He had been in North and South Dakota, Washington and Minnesota, and also barbered in Osage, Stacyville and St. Ansgar before he settled in Lyle.

Arthur Hofland, 69, died Saturday night at his home, Austin Rt. 3.
Surviving are his wife, Olga; a daughter, Gladys; a nephew, Harlan Johnson, who made his home with the Hofland family. Mr. Hofland was employed by the DeSoto Produce Co., Albert Lea, until his retirement.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon.
