Mrs. Mondolland, of Mitchell, was visiting friends here last Friday.

Ole Larson had the misfortune to break his ankle while loading hogs Saturday morning. Ole is doing well at this writing.

Dolly St. John, of Otranto, came over to meet her mother who came up from Osage Monday.

Hogs are bringing good prices here.

C.B. Angell, of Charles City, is in town in the interest of the Northwestern Life Insurance Co., of Minneapolis.

Julius Trebus left for South Elmhurst, Ill. Thursday to visit relatives.

Terence L. Meany, 83

Terence L. Meany, 83

Terence “Terry” Leo Meany, 83, passed away on July 15, 2011, in Austin.

Terry was born in Austin on March 30, 1928, to Francis P. and Ruth Meany. He was a 1946 high school graduate from St. Augustine (now Pacelli). Other schools attended were Loras College (1946-47) and St. Thomas College (1947-48). He earned his juris doctorate in 1953 from the University of Minnesota Law School.

He served with the United States Army from 1953-1955 in the Judge Advocate General’s Office.

Delores L. Morgan, 64, of the Heritage House, Lyle, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, at the Methodist Hospital.

Service: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating.

Visitation: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, Iowa.

Mrs. Michael Mogan death notice

-- Last Tuesday morning our people were shocked to learn of the death of Mrs. Michael Mogan, at her home a few miles north of Lyle. Mrs. Mogan was a sister of Lars Berg, who was recently killed by the cars. She was 28 years of age and had been a long sufferer from consumption. She leaves a husband and four small children, the youngest of which is only two weeks old. The funeral was held Wednesday and the remains were interred in Mona cemetery. Rev. Moore preached an eloquent sermon. --Lyle Tribune

Funeral services for Gus Larson, 90, were held Monday, January 27 at Schroeder & Houg Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. S. Klemesrud officiating. Committal rites were also held there with burial to be later in the Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona.

Gus Larson, the son of Arnie and Gundiel Larson was born on December 27, 1878 near Mona in Mitchell county where he spent his entire life engaged in farming until his health failed.

He was baptized & confirmed in the Mona Lutheran church.

The angel of death has again been in our midst, beckoning to one who has for some time been lying in a critical condition, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Anderson.

Mrs. O. P. Larson was born Oct. 26, 1826 at the capitol city in Norway. On Sept. 29th 1847, she was married and came to America Oct. 6th 1885.

Mrs. Halvor Lunde obituary

Mrs. Halvor Lunde passed away Tuesday at her home in Mona.

She was born in Nedenesss Amt, Holts, Prestegjeld, Norway, the 23rd of June 1829. Her childhood and youth were spent in Norway. On the 10th of October, 1854 she was married to Halvor Lunde and to them were born three children; 2 sons and 1 daughter. The daughter died in infancy. The sons are Halvor of this place and Thor of the state of New Jersey.

John Larson obituary

The remains of the late John M. Larson who died at Marion N. D., last week Wednesday was brought here for burial accompanied by Mrs. Larson and Chris Johnson. The funeral was held at the Lutheran church Sunday afternoon and interment was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery. Those who attended the funeral from abroad were Mrs. Larson's mother, Mrs. Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Rogne of Adams Minn., the deceased's sisters from Northfield and Mabel, Minn. Clara Leidall at Lyle

Clara Reuter Leidall, daughter of Margaret and Carl Reuter, was born June 16, 1899, in Jones county, Iowa. At the age of 14 she moved with her parents to Lyle, Minnesota. On October 18, 1919, she was united in marriage to Clifford Leidall. To this union three children were born: (Cleo) Mrs. Harland Libersky, and Paul of St. Ansgar, Iowa; Myron of Owatonna, Minn.
