The funeral of Miss Alma Nelson was held at Lyle last Tuesday. Interment took place at Pleasant Hill cemetery. Miss Nelson was one of Lyle's enterprising young ladies and it seems sad that she should be called at so young an age.
Miss Clara Myhre the sixteen year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Myhre died at the home of her parents on First Street, Tuesday morning about seven o'clock.
Clara was born on Oct. 2nd, 1887 and was one of a family of five children. For a year and a half she had not been well but the immediate cause of her death was pneumonia and pleurisy, with which she had suffered three weeks.
Lloyd Mortensen
Funeral services for Lloyd G. Mortensen, Lyle, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lyle, Rev. Harold Luecke officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, Iowa, with military rites by American Legion Post 105, Lyle. Friends may call at Worlein Funeral Home from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday and at the church one hour before the service Saturday.
Lauritz Larson of Dakota, was down to attend his father's funeral.
Martin Larson died at his home Thursday of heart trouble. Funeral services were held at the church conducted by Rev. Eggen. Deceased was laid in his last resting place in sunny side cemetery. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss.
Gunder Larson passed away at the home of his son after a few weeks' illness. Funeral services were held at the local church Friday afternoon with Rev. Langehough officiating. Interment was made in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Funeral services were held Saturday for O. M. Larson, who passed away Wednesday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. Penny at Osage. Interment was made in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
In spite of bad roads and severe weather last Thursday there was a large crowd in attendance at the funeral of Mrs. John Larson, whose remains were brought from Marion, N.D., for burial at the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
The remains of John Larson, a former resident of this community, were brought here for burial, in the Pleasant Hill cemetery, Thursday afternoon at 3:30. Mr. Larson has been residing with his brother near Orchard for many years, and passed away there, Tuesday.
The funeral of the late Oliver Knutson took place Saturday afternoon at the Lutheran church and interment was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery. The deceased was born in Lyle the 27th day of January 1880 where he made his home until his death and besides the hear relatives he leaves a large number of friends who mourn his departure. Oliver possessed a kind disposition and a quiet nature. While he had never been strong physically, it was not until a few weeks ago that he was compelled to give up work. About ten days before his death he went to St.
The remains of Mrs. Amelia Larson of Mason City were brought to Lyle, Thursday, Jan. 27, for burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery, at Mona. The deceased was a former resident of Lyle.
The remains of Mrs. Peter Johnson, who passed away Monday at her home in Lyle Center, were brought here and laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill cemetery last Thursday afternoon.
The remains of Peter Johnson who had been failing the past few years were laid to their final resting place in the Pleasant Hill cemetery Thursday afternoon.
Eberhart Johnson passed away at his home Saturday noon. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the local church. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery beside his wife.
Buried at Pleasant Hill Sunday
The 17 month old baby girl of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Henderson who died at the hospital at Austin Friday was laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill cemetery last Sunday afternoon. The little one had been sick for a couple weeks and was taken to the hospital a week prior to her death. Rev. Noss of Austin conducted the funeral service in the Lyle church, Sunday.
Death of Minnie Hofland.
Last Wednesday the young people of our community were stricken with sorrow, when the message was sent them, stating the death of Miss Minnie Hofland at her home near Lyle. Those who had learned to know her during her short stay in our little city, had found her a loving, true friend, and always a good natured young lady.
Funerals
Funeral services for Arthur Hofland, Austin Rt. 3, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, the Rev. Arthur L. Swenson officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, Iowa. Friends may call at the Worlein Funeral Home until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
Mrs. Hans Helgeson, Sr., 76, of Lyle, died at 1:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at St. Olaf hospital. She was ill with pneumonia and was taken to the hospital Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the Lyle Lutheran church Friday at 2:00pm. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
DIED-- Saturday February 23, 1901, of hemorrhage of the spinal cord, Henry the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Helgerson (sic). Interment took place at the Mona cemetery February 27.

Mrs. Palma Hedemark of Albert Lea was in Lyle Thursday making arrangements for the funeral of Elias Hedemark of Reynolds, N. D. whose remains will be brought here for burial, Saturday noon. The deceased was a brother of B. D. Hedemark formerly of Lyle. --Lyle Tribune
Mrs. Halvor Hanson, mother of Mrs. Oscar Thompson, passed away at her old farm home Sunday evening, death being due to neuralgia of the heart. Funeral services were held at the local church Wednesday afternoon and interment took place at the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Ole Halvorson passed away last Friday morning. Funeral services were held at the local church Monday afternoon and interment was made in the local cemetery.
