Foster B. Owen obituary

Died: Foster B, Owens at Otranto Station, Iowa, Friday evening, Jan. 24. He has been afflicted for
several years with partial paralysis, which compelled him to leave his farm in the fall of 1888, and
was the final cause of death.

He was a son of Calvin Owens, of Lyle, and was born in northeast New York state, June 30, 1852.
He moved to Minnesota with his parents at the age of four years. May 26, 1874, he was married to
Miss Hattie Strong, at Chautauqua, N. Y. They had three children.

Samuel Pinkham suicide

SUDDEN DEATH.

Samuel Pinkham died very suddenly at his home between the Cedar river and and M. & N. W. track, Sunday morning, at half past eleven o'clock. Mr. Pinkham had been a resident of Mower county about twenty years, formerly living in Lyle township. He was about fifty years old and leaves a wife to whom he had been married about two months.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Jahnke, age, 86, of Lyle were held Wednesday, January 11 at Our Savior's Lutheran church Lyle with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery at Austin, Minn.

Mrs. Jahnke died at St. Olaf hospital in Austin Sunday, January 8 from only a short illness.

Margaret Jahnke, the daughter of August and Elizabeth Hauff, was born March 28, 1880 in Germany.

Calvin Henry Owen, one of the pioneer settlers of the town of Lyle died at his residence in this city at 4:30, Monday afternoon, May 20, 1907, of paralysis, aged 83 years. He had a stroke of paralysis in June, 1905, and has since felt the effects of it. He was around most of the time until three weeks ago when he was taken critically ill.

Funeral services for Bennie Anderson, 84, were held Monday, January, 23, at Worlein's Funeral Home in Austin with the Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating. Temporary interment was at Oakwood cemetery in Austin.

Mr. Anderson died very suddenly from a heart attack at his farm home, rural Lyle Friday, January 20 while shoveling snow.

DURANT.

At her home in Mason City, July 7, 1901, Mrs. Elda, wife of Claude Durant, aged 23 years. She was born at Cedar City and lived in this vicinity until her marriage in March, 1900. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abe F. Watkins now of this city.

The remains were brought here for interment. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the residence of A. F. Watkins, Rev. F. L. Anderson officiating. Interment in Oakwood.

Funeral services for Mrs. John Hanson, 69 were held Monday, December 16, at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church with Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating and interment will be in Oakwood, Austin.

She passed away Friday, December 13, at Comforcare Nursing Home in Austin where she had been since her release from Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage following a stroke.

in Austin, Minnesota Tuesday, January 9 for a former Lyle business man, Ingewahl F. Dahl, age 85, now of Austin, at the Congregational church with the Rev. Edwin J. Arnold officiating and interment was in Oakwood cemetery.

Mr. Dahl suffered a heart attack Sunday morning while he and his wife were enroute to church and died immediately.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans H. Dahl and was reared in the Otranto area.
