Our Savior's

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Jahnke, age, 86, of Lyle were held Wednesday, January 11 at Our Savior's Lutheran church Lyle with the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery at Austin, Minn.

Mrs. Jahnke died at St. Olaf hospital in Austin Sunday, January 8 from only a short illness.

Margaret Jahnke, the daughter of August and Elizabeth Hauff, was born March 28, 1880 in Germany.

On October 10 1903 she was married to John Jahnke and they lived in St. Paul, Minn. until 1908 moving to Providence, R. I. from there to St. Louis, Ill. in 1910, and to Austin, Minn. 1912. Her husband died November 11, 1948 and in 1949 she came to Lyle where she had made her home since with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schaufenbil.

She is survived by two daughters, Miss Selma Jahnke of Minneapolis and Mrs. Ernest (Erna) Schaufenbil of Lyle, and one grandson, Anothony Schaufenbil of Winona, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Harold Jahnke.

Pallbearers were Wayne Hartson, Charles Weisman, Austin Wittlief, Jo Lillegaard, Vance Hotson, and Vernon Murphy.
