SAMUEL ENERSON
Another pioneer of Mower County and a Civil War veteran has answered the last summons. Samuel Enerson passed away June 11th at his home in Nevada where he has lived since 1854. Mr. Enerson was born in Nummedahl, Norway, July 22, 1843. At the age of 19 he came to America with his parents and settled in Beloit, Wis., where the family resided for two years and then moved to Nevada, Mower county, Minn., where he made his home until his death. When the Union was threatened and the call to arms came in '62 he enlisted and served three long years under old glory. In 1866 he was married to Miss Mary Jergenson and this union was blessed with five children, four of whom survive him. They are Theo. and Gustave Enerson and Mrs. Osten O. Ostenson and Mrs. Osmund Ostenson. Two brothers also survive, Tom and Even Enerson and two sisters, Mrs. N. Nelson and Mrs. A. P. Martin all of the vicinity of Lyle. Mr. Enerson was a life long member of the Lutheran church. The funeral services were held at the Six Mile Grove church Monday 15th and were conducted by Rev. Moe.
