John Merrill Aanonson, 85, of Rose Creek, Minn., passed away at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013.
John was born Aug. 21, 1927, on the family farm in Nevada Township, Minn., to Lewis and Ethel (Hofland) Aanonson. John attended school in Nevada Township District 11, and was a baptized and confirmed member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church, Lyle, Minn.
Glen Arnold Aanonson, 96, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at the Adams Health Care Center, Adams, Minnesota.
He was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Nevada Township, Mower County, Minnesota, to Lewis and Ethel (Hofland) Aanonson. Glen attended country schools and graduated from the eighth grade. He was married to Irene Walk on May 9, 1943. They had two sons: Leland and Larry.

Hon. Halvor K. Volstad died at his home in Nevada township, Thursday, Feb. 1, 1912, of old age, aged 85 years.
He was born in Norway, Oct. 21, 1826, and was reared to agricultural pursuits. At the age of 27 years he came to Chicago and found employment on a farm in Winnebago county, Ill. at ten dollars a month.
He was married to Isabel Stabuck and they remained on a farm in Illinois until 1856 when they came to Mower county bringing two pair of oxen and their household goods. It took them 21 days on the road, they camping on the way.
