Ole Lillegaard Funeral Held At Six Mile Grove

Ole Lillegaard, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Oleson Lilligaard, was born May 23, 1873 in Lyle.

His mother passed away when he was an infant and he was raised by foster parents near Adams, Minn, where he resided until he returned to Lyle to help care for his father.

On December 5, 1899 he was united in marriage to Signe Stoe in the parsonage by the Rev. J. Muller Eggen. One daughter and two sons were born to this union.

Since their marriage they have resided on the same farm in Nevada township except for two years spent in Austin, Minn. The couple was privileged to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary December 5, 1964.

Mr. Lillegaard was a county road supervisor, and also served on the Nevada school board for many years.

On August 13, 1965 he entered Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage where he was for five weeks then was taken to the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar where he died Saturday, October 9 at the age of 92 years.

He is survived by his wife, Signe, his daughter Mrs. Russell (Mabel) Osmonson of Albert Lea; and two sons, Orlanzo and Joy both of Lyle. Also four grandchildren, Joyce, David, Keith and Mrs. Karen Farnsworth and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, October 12 at Six Mile Grove church, where he was a lifelong member, conducted by the Rev. S. Klemesrud and burial was in the church cemetery.

Relatives attending the services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lillegaard, Midwest, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. David Lillegaard, Dell City, Okla.; Mrs. Russell Anderson, Starbuck, Minn. The rest came from Rose Creek, Adams, Austin, Taopi.
