Irene Martha Aanonson -- Rose Creek

ROSE CREEK -- The funeral for Irene Martha Aanonson will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church in Lyle, with the Revs. Russ Wangen and Einar Unseth co-officiating. Burial will be in Six Mile Grove Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Aanonson, 76, of Rose Creek, a longtime area farm homemaker, died Saturday (Sept. 16, 2000) at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center in Austin.

Irene Martha Walk as born Aug. 28, 1924, near Grafton, Iowa, and attended Rock Creek Lutheran Church near Grafton. At age 12, she moved with her family to a farm near Lyle. On May 9, 1943, she married Glen A. Aanonson at the Lutheran parsonage in Lyle. They resided on the family farm near Rose Creek all their married lives. A member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church, she was active in WELCA and Dorcas Circle and taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Leland of Rose Creek and Larry (Lynette) of Lyle; two grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn (Lyle) Hanson of Blooming Prairie. Three brothers preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
