Harry Attlesey of Lyle dies at 88

LYLE ---- Harry Attlesey, 88, of Lyle, longtime owner of the Lyle blacksmith shop, died Friday evening (July 7, 1995) at Good Samartitan Nusring Home in St. Ansgar, Iowa.

He was born Sept. 19, 1906, in rural Austin. On Jan. 1, 1929, he married Isabel Webber in Austin and they lived in Austin and Stacyville, Iowa, before moving to Lyle. He then worked for A &; S Machines, operated a portable feed mill, and for 46 years before his retirement at age 84 owned the Lyle blacksmith shop. He enjoyed working on the farm and gardening.

Survivors include a daughter, LaRayne Kleckner of St. Ansgar; a son, Ronald of London, Minn.; two grandchildren; a great grandson; a sister, Blanche Jahnke of Austin; and a brother, Daniel of Backus, Minn.

The funeral was today at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle, with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiated. Burial was in Cedar City Cemetery.

Worlein Funeral Home in Austin was in charge of arrangements.
